Expenses Rise In Business Of College Football
Lone Star State breakdown

The expenses and revenues for the 12 Football Bowl Subdivision teams in Texas in 2012. UT San Antonio becomes a full FBS school in 2014.

School Expenses Revenue Profit/loss
Texas $27.7 $109.4 $81.7
Texas A&M $18.1 $53.8 $35.7
Texas Tech $15.4 $34.6 $19.2
Baylor $20.3 $26.2 $6.0

Please note that these figures are for football only. The revenue and expenses for all sports are quite different.

You do realize that 95% or more of collegiate athletic departments lose money? Almost all of them operate in the red. The only ones that make a profit are schools like Ohio State or Texas. Everyone else operates at a loss. The boosters are the one's that raise the money to try to make up for the loss.

This has to be football only numbers.

And those are "football only" numbers.

No, I'm a fan of playing up and getting paid. Problem is our schedule is already jam packed. I wonder how much UH(Hawaii) pays? Maybe add a 13th game.
