Jimmie Ward, third team AP + first team Sports Illustrated All-American. What a year for these two.

Only if he received 50% or more of the vote.
You have to be a consensus pick to be eligible.

That I did not know. Being first-team AP All-America is a requirement. Thanks, JWN

No problem, so yeah he is halfway eligible at the moment. I'd bet he's really close to that 50% mark.
Would love to see him be eligible, certainly deserving considering he's #1 and #2 in Qb rushing records for a game and in a season. Holds a few NCAA records, and is the only player to ever throw for 1,500 yards and rush for 20 tds in a season. Has a very good chance to go 2000/2000. (119 yards from that) He'd had to go off to be a 3000/2000 guy. Needs 324 in the air and the 119 on the ground.
The fact he is on the cusp is insane.

AP All-America list is considered the gold standard of such teams, which is why being on the first team is so prestigious.

Yeah, AP has been doing it since 1925, and here are the main recognized organizations: As of 2009, the College Football All-America Team is composed of the following College Football All-American first teams: Associated Press (AP), Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Walter Camp Foundation (WCFF), The Sporting News (TSN), Sports Illustrated (SI), Pro Football Weekly (PFW), ESPN, CBS Sports (CBS), College Football News (CFN), Rivals.com, and Scout.com. (shout out to the Wikipedia folks)

Too bad Bob Hope is not alive anymore. He used to do a College All American Special every year and introduce the players. For you youngsters, you won't know what I am talking about.

The building did, not the organization.
They used to be in South Bend, but now are in I think Atlanta.

That was an awesome show. Corny jokes, but it was fun to see those college stars. I was an awestruck kid. It was also when only 3 national channels and it was prime time.

RE: Jordan Lynch, first team AP All-American
This just goes to show the AP All-American list is total horse$%&t. Any list that doesn't have Derek Carr on it is clearly written by retards. He has better passing stats against superior defenses in the MWC and he'll be drafted in the NFL, which is the standard by which all accomplishments on the college level should be measured. If God put a football team together, Derek Carr would be starting QB, but frankly after all this, God would f&*K up that roster too.
