I hope we at least try the press. If we don’t they will probably control tempo unless we get a nice lead. If they control tempo and stay in their zone this will be exactly what Billy D wants.

Plus they don’t have a Marcus Smart on their roster.

you don't have to exert a lot of pressure to press a team.
Just make it difficult to get across the half-court line...and then shift to a half court defense.
Make the offensive player exert some energy bringing the ball up the floor...if they aren't in condition..(and there is no way their best guard is in tip top shape after sitting out with a ankle injury I'd guess)...it does make sense.

man, I hope we win. i'd love to hear vitale, etc have to sing our praises.

Yes, you can watch it live on-line also.

Not always the case. I have Comcast internet and Direct TV. I can watch ESPN3 games but can't watch anything on ESPN online.

Yeah, and two of those seven happen to be two of the best point guards in the country.

Wilbekin and Hill have combined for 43 assists and 13 turnovers thus far.

Pressing us would be playing right into our strengths.

I don't like our press. If we had a press like VCU I would encourage it more though.

perhaps if we utilized the press like we did against CBU...yes we'd give up some buckets...but they'd tire out. A 7 man rotation?
As they get tired... they start fouling....and get into foul trouble.
Then they have to start playing young men who don't normally get a lot of playing time.
Glad I don't have to answer for what defense we play tonight. LOL

Depth isn't as important as quality. And, either way, we definitely have sufficient guard depth.

The thing I'm most worried about is guarding Goodwin and Nichols when Young is on the bench.
