They were responsible for the worst defense in the entire country. They are terrible coaches, and they absolutely needed to go.

If they were terrible coaches, why did McGee hire them to begin with?. Not only did he hire them, but both got to serve as the DC at one point, and one of them the assistant HC.

What a stupid argument.

Get John Neal, make him assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.

Why would he leave a top-notch program like Oregon for here, when the last 2 seasons have been more or less a train wreck? He is a very good coach though..........did a great job when he was here before.

You did not address the riddle though.

The state of Alabama is the Mecca of College football. If McGee turns UAB around, he's gone for a bigger job. Neal can be coach in waiting. What do we expect to come with winning? attendance, facilities, maybe OCS. It wouldn't benefit him, but he should take a chance anyways. 03-lmfao

I never really thought they were that good after all they had SEC talent at Ark yet still couldn't produce there. It may be more what they're trying to do defensively requires certain players & UAB/Ark didn't have those but Ark would have the talent to overcome that yet still didn't. It's a shame but it is part of the business & a lot of what UBD said is true

I would submit that there are a lot of coaches who wouldn't "get it done" if they were plopped down in the SEC West with UA, LSU, and AU.
