Never let a crisis go to waste: Obama stumps for gun control at Newtown
Because you should never miss an opportunity to use the deaths of innocents to further your political agenda. Maybe he should put his efforts into finding out why areas with strict gun laws have the highest incidents of gun murders.

Quote:WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama marked the anniversary of the Newtown school shootings on Saturday by calling for tighter gun control and expanded mental healthcare, and by lighting 26 candles to commemorate the victims.

"We haven't yet done enough to make our communities and our country safer," the president said in his weekly address. "We have to do more to keep dangerous people from getting their hands on a gun so easily. We have to do more to heal troubled minds."

I have no problem with trying to restrict as much as possible dangerous and mentally ill people from obtaining guns. While I am not a fan of using tragedies as political leverage for policy change?....He is not the first to do this. It seems to be now that damn near every incident where innocent people die...someone chooses to use it.

Well, in general that is because dangerous or mentally ill people are the ones doing the shooting. I am actually surprised neither of you have shot yourselves yet. I figure it is just a matter of time.

I had no idea my statement could spur you to post your most stupid comment ever. You just set the bar pretty high there Toby. No way you can top that.04-cheers

Is there any end to your protection of Obama?

Is this your answer for everything?
"Well, it's ok because everyone does it."

For Clarity...I do not excuse Obama for using this tragedy for political gain even though others have done the same thing. It is not excusable regardless of who or what gang does it. Evidently I did not make myself clear enough for someone to understand.
