So is the improved recruiting the coaches or the conference move? I've seen it posted on here a number of times that BP can't recruit so it must be the conference move giving WKU a big boost in recruiting.

Who cares? I certainly don't! 03-wink

I would bet the cache of BP's name has more to do with it than the conference. If a guy can't get an offer from a P5 school, playing for Bobby Petrino means a lot to them. Our conferences are all about equal really. I bet a lot of your recruits thought WKU was already in CUSA.

Recruiting rankings say otherwise. Almost every exiting school from a conference has gotten a new conferemce bump, save Memphis

I cant prove the commitments yet. Our scout guys are busy with the coaching search, and really haven't had time to update our recruiting our board yet. Until they do, I cant prove it.

We have 15 commitments, with Kyle Harris and Centarius Dean as the added JUCO's. Hollingsworth Decommitted the day Harsin left

Its all in flux. We have 8 JUCO commits I think but suspect only 6 or 7 sign tomorrow. Have to factor in academic issues and attrition. We are technically over the limit but we shall see.what happens.

RE: 2014 Recruiting Rankings
Still pretty funny that any rational human being would believe Georgia State is cultivating better players than Georgia Southern. I know the rankings are bs because of State has a rivals guy, but still

RE: 2014 Recruiting Rankings
Those rankings are based largely on how many commitments you have, and not just the (perceived) quality of the recruits. The rankings on the site will change dramatically when everyone gets their 20+ or so recruits. Here is the rankings based on average star rating. Troy has some really good recruits but I'd be surprised if Troy stays #1 in average star rating when the rest of the recruits come in.

1. Troy : 80.20
2. Arkansas State : 79.44
3. Texas State : 77.67
4. Appalachian State : 76.80
5. New Mexico State : 76.60
6. South Alabama : 76.51
7. Idaho : 76.38
8. Georgia State : 76.07
9. Louisiana : 75.97
10. Georgia Southern : 75.66
11. ULM : 75.55

There is a 5 point difference from top to bottom. I think we see why no team in the Sun Belt has separated from the pack on the field.

Also a very good point. CUSA has a 4 point difference and the AAC has a 6 point difference currently

If all 11 are in the same order the first Wednesday in February as they are today I will step out of the parallel universe I'm in and come back to reality. They will change.

Georgia State has some good recruits and could be the best in the SBC, but to make comparisons to other schools' classes is just fun and games at this point. It's not serious.

Not suggesting in anyway that we will win a title anytime soon, but in our recent title days, we were never first to the finish line. We always have a ton of (good) surprises on signing day that no one knows about. Just because its not reported doesn't mean nothing is going on. There will be some who sign today (or in the next few days) who are not listed as Troy commits by any site.

GaState has a ton of commits simply because each one of them knows, with the state of the Panther's program, they have a chance to start (or at least PLAY) sometime during their freshman year. These kids don't want to be redshirted, they wants to play, yo!
