Not sure about it... Chromecast seems too limited at this point.. It's cheap though... You can get the Roku 3 for $79.99 at RadioShack until 12/15/13

How exactly does it work? I know I can google it, but too lazy right now to read bunch of stuff and pretty nasty headache going on (that's why I am on here instead of the FF )

Roku is a little box that allows you to instantly stream tons of entertainment on your TV... It got tons of stuff to stream... Once you get it, you have to install PLEX... A nice program that allows to stream channels like Navi-x and Icefilms thru the UnSupportedAppstore program... Too bad, it doesn't support XBMC for now.

Hope I am not confusing you too much!... For once, you can stream ESPN3 games on your TV thru the Watch ESPN channel, a nice change from watching it on your PC... Will let you stream games from ESPN and ESPN2 as long as you are subscribed to them thru your cable company..

Sounds fantastic, thanks. Our 50" TV is going out, so I was thinking about getting a smart TV. Guess it works just like any computer with apps and all. May give roku a try before buying a new TV

Yep... I am still watching on a Samsung Plasma 1080p from 2010!...

For once, no need to get a smart TV if you have a PS3 or XBox around the house that probably runs everything that smart TVs offer like Netflix or Amazon movies... Even a couple years old Blueray player have what smart TVs are offering these days... You don't need a smart TV to check your Facebook or listen to Pandora!... A smart TV to me is just overrated.
