The writer talks about Rice like they're a small child with a slingshot in their match-up with Mississippi State. Joke's on him though, I think they're going to win that one.

screw this guy. and screw the entire media for decrying and deriding non-major bowls. many people seem to misunderstand this phenomenon. they seem to think that because the a$$wipes in the media dump on something, that the thing is worthless. just wait until the first playoff bracket is named. trust me. the irony is that all playoff brackets that will ever be created will truly screw the life out of a half a dozen (or more) perfectly worthy schools.

Just go watch that video of Rice's locker room after the game and you'll feel better.

RE: OT: CBS ranks all Bowl Games
I will say this about the Belk Bowl. Is there enough canvas to cover about 50,000 of Bank of America's 70,000 seat stadium. If Duke v. Fl. State only sells 50,000+/- the 6 - 6 UNC v. Cincy will do well to fill 20,000 seats. I'm guessing a couple of years of Cincy or UConn, or Tulane etc. and Belk Bowl officials will be shopping for a different conference affiliation. I would think it would make a nice bowl for the CUSA champ (Marshall, UNCC, ODU, WKU, and So Miss would definitely bring a large contingent of fans.) Geographically the Belk bowl isn't that great a fit with the AAC beyond ECU and possibly UCF, but it is for 3rd place AAC so not exactly one fans will travel great distances to see.

well.....he ranks our bowl 23rd...which is much better than the person opining at Yahoo and ESPN, who each ranked it 33rd.....so that's something for us......

The Belk Bowl and the SEC signed a 6 year agreement this fall just before the football season began. The AAC is losing the Belk Bowl. They might be an alternate, but it'll be ACC vs. SEC for the next 6 years.

Belk is a solid bowl in a great location. Doubt it will ever be filled by a G5.
