I now realize....we will NEVER be able to be in a big time conference as for some reason others truly view us as a directional non-factor of a program, and we should always be. Really disheartening. I have always been upset about their negative press, but for the first time I realize we will never be able to be in the same conference as the big boys as we are sought out to be disliked.

Just at a loss of words. Mark May makes those other three look like amateurs. Those three guys really suck at life

Do these guys realize that next year one non-AQ(highest ranked) team will automatically get a major bowl? I wonder if they will be ok with this unless it would happen to be NIU? Would the rants against NIU continue?

I forgot to mention next year the AAC conference is non-AQ.

Unless we beat a AQ ranked team like Boise/TCU/Utah did, or join the AAC/MWC, probably yes

I think its the opposite. I think its more of a jab to the MAC, not NIU. UCF is a directional, they struggled hard down the stretch, but they hardly take a jab at that because they are in the AAC. If NIU switched spots with UCF, they would be jabbing at them.

They were jabbing at them 2 weeks ago. Pollack said he doesn't consider the AAC a real BCS conference.

I am not saying being in the AAC makes them untouchable with regards to negative jabs, but there is a difference in relation to the volume and extent between NIU/Fresno/UCF jabs.

These guys will jab at everything/anything, they jabbed at Ohio State, at Rutgers, at ND, at Clemson.... no one is immune. Everyone is just so dam sensitive to it around here.

I don't believe I am being so damn sensitive to it. Their rants are vicious and unrelenting and go way beyond what would be considered a normal sports opinion.

Pretty much the way I see it. They COULD be NOT talking about us and guess what....NO ONE would even look our way. With everyone disrespecting us, everyone is taking time out of their day to look up and Google NIU and see what we are all about.

Being hated because of your success is one thing. Being disrespected is something else entirely. The disrespect comes from being in the MAC and the weak competition we face year in and year out. Last year the talking heads said had we won all our games they had no problem putting us in the OB. This year we were doing exactly that and still the disrespect remains. I am frustrated at the disrespect we receive, but there is not much that can be done except to win when these idiots in the media speak. Many misinformed people take their word for it.

And as long as we continue to schedule teams like the great Presbyterian College, that disrepsect will continue and grow.

Yes because the really good schools don't play fcs schools.
