Yeah...but there are 300,000 people without power in Dallas. You could barely get to the stadium....half the roads to it were closed.

doesn't change the fact that it was a low turnout for the game

The whole point of conference championship games has nothing to do with how many are in the stands. Conference championships exist solely for TV money.

Just my opinion, but we would have had more in the stadium if we hosted the championship. If we win, they will come.

I thought the Rice student turnout was phenomenal considering their enrollment size.

FIFY. Have to agree, there wouldn't have been an empty seat in the house had the game been played in Huntington. How did the conference come to the conclusion of letting them play in Houston as opposed? I thought that both teams had identical records, but hadn't played one another (that I am aware of)...Just the same, Rice won and won in impressive fashion, congratulations to them and Coach Bailiff. If you want to see a game where "there weren't many people there" at all, how about the Central Florida - SMU game in Dallas today?

I'm sure Finis would have been reasonable and had his accountant take that one out of the average if the same thing happened in Birmingham.
