NIU usually struggles out of the gate then turns it on later in the game to win, which is what will likely happen in this game. But BG looks pretty impressive thus far.

Any guesses on the attendance?

Crowd on the BGSUcks side looks good. Haven't seen a good crowd shot of the NIU side.

Looked to me that the officials blew both calls on the onside kick.

I would hope that NIU could get a good showing from their fans, since they had more time to buy tickets.

Both sidelines look pretty full, with the usual smattering along the endzones. Paid attendance should be at least in the 20's if I had to guess.

BG may be up 24-13 now, but they better hold a two-possession lead going into halftime if they want to win this game. They don't have the firepower to trade blows with NIU, they'll need to stay aggressive (especially in the 3Q) to keep the pressure on. Huskies have been moving the ball well enough against the Falcon D that sitting on the ball is not an option.

2nd down- Lynch runs to the left

3rd down- Lynch throws a pass to himself

4th down- Lynch punts the ball.


NIU is a one-man show. Stop Lynch and you stop the entire team.

Frank Solich isn't coaching BGSU tonite so he can't help NIU with ******* playing calling he did in the second half that MAC title game. Instead of running the ball on first down and using clock up two scores, Ohio was throwing interceptions on first down in the early 4th quarter. Bad coaching lost that game for Ohio in second half that nite. BGSU won't make the mistakes Ohio made that nite.

I was about to say...Jordan Lynch is awesome, but this defense is awful. Guys wide open down field every play it seems.

No. Credit to BG coaches but keep in mind Carey is a first year HC and he seems like he is being out coached. I do think the onside is the play of the game right now. We win that and it's possible we are up right now.

NIU defense is terrible and Unlike Ball State and Toledo BGSU has the defense to stop NIU. BGSU offense pretty good. Lynch going to have to save the Huskies again.

Offsides was a bad call, Illegal block was the wrong call. The correct call is kick catch interference. College rules changed to where you have to give the returner room to catch an onside kick.
