The pointless "rank C-USA bball teams top to bottom" thread...
I'm not ranking by record, but by who I feel has the best team RIGHT NOW (12/5)

1. UAB (best non-conf. win vs UNC)
2. Charlotte
3. Southern Miss
4. UTEP
5. La Tech
6. MTSU
7. North Texas
8. Marshall
9. Tulsa
10. East Carolina
11. Old Dominion
12. FAU
13. Tulane
14. Rice
15. FIU
16. UTSA (correction: 2 losses to non-D1 schools, ouch!)

What is yours?

We are not better than East Carolina... we are maybe as talented, but as a team... no.

I'd say we're around 12th as of right now.

I would put USM ahead of Charlotte. Our team showed last night we can't play without our starting PG Henry.

No ranking, but UTSA has NOT lost to NAIA schools. Not that much better, but they did lose to DII McMurry.

I think we should at the very worst be7th right now, maybe 6th.

We only have 2 post players and that could be a killer, but looking over this conference there really isn't a lot of talent in the post to make us pay for it like Cedrick Williams did at UNCW IMO. I mean what teams in CUSA have 6-9 centers averaging 15ppg that lead their teams in scoring and are the focus of their offense? None.

I think Charlotte, MTSU, and maybe Bohanan at UTEP are going to be about the toughest matchups because of their big strong bigs, but I'd put our perimeter players against anyone and I think we'll have a good chance in every game because of them.

north texas is WAY too high...benford has the talent on the team, but he doesn't have a clue how to coach...

Davidson was playing without their 6-7 leading scorer and rebounder. 16.8ppg 6.5rpg a game.

Clayton will be a load for anyone in the conference, but I think teams are starting to figure Thorne out. He started the season off really strong, but he really only has one go to move on offense (hook shot over the left shoulder). It works really well close to the basket, but if you can keep him 10' out he'll still take it and hit it with a lot less frequency.

Still pleasantly surprised with his development, but I think the first few games were a tease. As a relatively unknown, teams hadn't game planned for him. Now they are.

I'd say we're around 12th as of right now.

ECU's wins: 3 non-D1 schools, 1 pt win vs 2-4 UNC Greensboro, 2 pt win vs 2-3 Norfolk State, blowout win vs winless McNeese State, 11 pt win vs 1-7 UNC Ashville

Marshall wins: 1 non-D1 school, blowout win over winless SC State, 20 point win over 4-5 UNC Wilmington (who beat ECU), 10 point win over 4-3 WKU

I'd say right NOW, Marshall is a better team than ECU.

Yeah we know and I don't think he was using it as an excuse for why we lost, just stating that we are a much, much worse team without Henry. Our ball movement was terrible, especially to the bigs inside. We basically just passed the ball around the perimeter because Ingram can't drive and dish like Henry.

Our defense is also much different. It's really easy to take a single player for granted, but we saw last night that Henry is irreplaceable for us.

It's hard to replace a guy that averages nearly 13ppg, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, and nearly 3 steals.

With Henry we're a top 4 team in the conference, possibly top 2, without him, we're probably 6-7th.

Probably should move Tulsa and ECU ahead of us for now. I think we'll get better as the year goes on but right now they should be ahead of us.

I'd say Marshall has as or more talented team and probably one of the most talented in CUSA and likely has the most talented player in CUSA too. The problem is Pittman is unpredictable and I Herrion is an average coach at best.

This is why everyone hates you. This wasn't an excuse for why we lost, it was merely a reason behind listing USM ahead of Charlotte at this point in time.

Day to day at this point. We play App State on Sunday but I doubt he plays. After that we don't have another game until December 17th against Florida State.

I agree he's a big loss for you guys, but I think it was canceled out in that particular game with the loss Davidson had which seemed equally as big on the surface. I do think college basketball is mostly a guards driven game, but you'd assume they should be more replaceable as well and it being harder to find talented big men on benches too.

We don't need stats to let us know that was terrible loss.

ECU only has 2 forwards. That's not all that hard to defeat. Just got to get one of them in foul trouble.

They're in trouble... don't buy the hype. The fans were talking about finding a walkon PF from some other sport or their Rec Center
