You kinda made Jackson point. Florida State as powerful as they have been only has 2 commitments.

tOSU recruits mainly the Midwest not Florida.

Quote:and if you go to Rivals and look at CUSA schools, guess what...they have ZERO verbals too....

The whole damn point was to show what schools have been locking up commitments and those that havn't.
Soooooooooo, the new BEast additions need to get on the ball.

No disrespect to the Original Big East schools but WVU won the Big East by converting a 2 point conversion in Triple OT at home. You seem to want to make to point IMHO to get on the former C-USA schools but if you look at the Big East Football Standings the two schools that finished 2nd and 3rd were two former C-USA schools.

Again, you can thank Joe Pa for the early recruitment stuff. Of course, it had spread accross the country but its still "the thing" to do in the east. I have heard a lot of people say the reason PSU was having some problems the last few yrs because they were offering kids too early without properly evaluating them

--Just to show you how things are different in other regions...I remember hearing from WVU coach Don Nehlen saying that an early verbal from a Fla kid means only you will get a VISIT from him in January

-- I would be concerned that Uconn doesn't have a verbal because a lot of the Top 100 Eastern players are being gobbled up

Jackson there is a saying in the SEC and it applies to schools like Rutgers, Louisville, USF and West Virginia who recruit Florida and the South. The only thing a early verbal means is you know who to recruit against.

-- BTW...here is the East's Top 100...you'll see a fair amount of players are already off the board

This thread summed up in one sentence:

"WVU82 is clueless on most topics (case in point seen here) and likes being an ass".

That's basically been his M.O. from what I've seen recently from all of his posts. Almost all WVU fans on here show reason and class. WVU82 reminds me of some of the clowns on the WVU rivals board.

I think we can all agree that football recruiting rankings are FAR from perfect. That said, in this thread WVU82 tries to act like they are the end all, be all, and as if WVU is leaving UofL in the recruiting dust. If that's the case, UofL fans would have had ALL the ammo from the recently finished class. Yet, I sure don't remember many threads on here from UofL fans about how WVU needs to start recruiting real players. That's why WVU82 is just an ass.

UC's earliest commit for the 06 class was around this same time last year, and we only had 5 before October of 05. This thread is just plain retarded.

exactly... first off no one knows how these kids will do at the next level.. and 2nd how many of these kids qualify and which kids dont.. If U bring in 2 4 star guys and 6 3 stars... u have a great class but then the 2 4 stars and 1 3 star have to go juco... u have a very average class.

So, why do you use it to make your point?

Exactly. Those rankings mean squat. UCONN usually have late commitments too. Not sure how we will do this year, but Randy Edsall has a different method than most people. If the rankings are any indication, UCONN should be close to be the worst team in the BE. However, our performance on the fields says otherwise except for last year. We will see how we do this year. I fully expect UCONN to be 8-4 or 9-3 this year.

Uconn has been in the BE only 2 year right..first year middle of the pack,,, and 2nd year was near the bottom... or am I missing something.

Well yes you are....Your missing the the fact you don't have a team in the Big East and never will. If the Big East ever made the mistake of adding UCF over Memphis or ECU it would mean the end of our automatic BCS bid. I for one would beg the powers to take it because we were simply associated with such a program. Matter of fact I will go on record as saying CUSA will never get an automatic bid as long as UCF is associated with that conference. If BB was smart, and we all know he isn't, he would immediately drop UCF from the conference and add another Florida program say, A&M, Atlantic or International to rid his conference of the stigma of being associated with the Golden Knights. lmfao lmfao lmfao

UCF is not bad CJ, don't judge a group by a few.

I am in the wait and see mold on expansion now. UCF, ECU or Memphis could become the next Louisville in C-USA. All 3 are now putting in the resources to look pretty for us.

As a league we will be fine and we are growing as well. Very excited with what is happening here in Louisville, West Virginia, Pitt, USF, UConn and Rutgers. UC has just completed Varsity Village but I am in a wait and see on Syracuse Football.

UC had one of the youngest teams in football last year, so obviously it stands to reason that UC isn't going to have a big recruiting class. Besides, these are the same people that will take a UC recruit and drop him 2 or 3 stars because he went to UC instead of Oklahoma or something stupid like that.

Thanks Jackson. We have some strong football knowledgeable people on the UC board like Marcus among others, but not NEARLY enough UC fans supporting the football program. I'm going to some UC football games this year, I went last year. I definitely want to go to the Pitt game, maybe the Akron game. But the administration and the fans need to step things up. We should be averaging AT THE LAST 30,000. Not 28,000, not 29,000, 30,000. The facilities and coaching staff is in place for the UC to be a Top 30 or 40 football program at worse year in and year out, and becoming a Top 25 program in the future. But Mark Dantonio, UC's football coach said it best, we need fan support. Recruits are impressed with strong fan support. It helps make money for the athletic department to improve the football program, adds national respect to the program AND the conference, and just adds some pride. Coach Dantonio showed what he can do with a solid team. The 2004 UC football team, after a slow start, went on a tear, beat a Top 25 team soundly on the road and was receiving Top 25 votes. And that was without HIS players and with a team that was thin and coming off a losing season. Once he gets his players in the sky's the limit. But he needs fan support to push UC over the top.

As the lone Temple football fan you should becareful about making comments about anyone else's program. Ecspecially when the program you berate now sits in a league that your program was ask to leave. You do realize that the Big East would rather have scheduling problems every season than invite your Owls back don't you.

Maize,
Believe me I understand what your saying. This bunch from the Magic Kingdom, however, doesn't deserve to be treated fairly, at least not by anyone from the Big East.
EVERY UCF fan that posts on the net, all 5 or 6 of them lmfao lmfao lmfao , is constantly looking for ways to belittle the Big East. You don't see that from anyone else in CUSA. They seem extremely upset that the Big East chose USF instead of them. Most UCF fans seem to have the stalker mentality of the scorned woman in Fatal Attraction when it comes to the Big East and USF. I know if I was Mikey T I would worry about their President or AD showing up for Big East meetings uninvited.
I realize that UCF has a nice little program but they need to spend a few years improving it in CUSA the way Memphis has. Or they need to build a following the way ECU has.
Bottomline, UCF held out hope that the Big East would call them. They even put off calling CUSA back when they invited them to join, waiting for the Big East to call. How sad is that? No I for one hope UCF waits by the phone waiting for the Big East to call because I don't believe it will ever ring for them.

You really do have some family jewels to sit here and rag on the Cincinnati football program. Take a look in the mirror, and when Temple actually shows signs of having a football program give me a call, then you can talk some smack. I mean think about it, the Big East would rather schedule a Division I-AA program then invite Temple back. The Big East would rather kick Temple out of the conference and give Cincinnati an All-Sports invite then vice versa. Think about that.
