I am sure that the kid feels bad enough as it is without a bunch of idiot "fans" (sic) piling on to harass him.

It's a sad commentary on our society. If a player is lazy or selfish he deserves to be lit up. Just the inability to win a matchup/play etc is no reason to treat a human poorly. Most often those who criticize usually are not has beens, but instead NEVER WASUS. Actually something I made up years ago but I observe applies quite often to some fans [use this term very loosely].
