I knew that if the game was close they would come home while we had a chance to win, and it would be at the exact moment my heart was about to stop.

Well....they came at exactly the time Chris Crawford was at the line with 2:33 left in the game. We were of course ahead by 4.

I turned off the TV (it was recording). I turned off my computer. I rewound the game to halftime and watched it from there. My son left to go to the gym. My X said thanks for getting the mail and left. I was by self acting like an idiot as usual as the game approached the 2:33 mark.

Crawford made one of two, and I cussed. He then missed the front end and it got to a one point game. I knew we were going to lose of course and I just kind of went limp. Kind of felt like the championship game in 08.

Then the most miraculous thing happened. Joe Jackson went to the line with one second left. He hits the first free throw, and I know the game is won. Josh calls a timeout and ............my recorder stopped.

I gave it an extra 15 minutes over the scheduled time and having it stopped only added to the miserable year I've had in every aspect of my life the past year.

I know we won without reading a post or thread and all I can say is GO TIGERS! We finally did it.

What a way to end a terrible year for me. I'm so darn happy, I don't know what to say.

He called it to send the team to the other end of the floor so there was no chance of us committing a foul with no time coming off the clock (was it Butler v Purdue a few years ago where that happened?)

Joe made the second one, and they performed the pointless inbound and we celebrated

Bet you can watch it on espn3

Glad for all of us to be able to celebrate

I'm just going to sit back, relax, and watch the whole game again. Commercials and all. What a great game and what a great way to redeem ourselves. I knew we were going to give them hell. I just knew it.

Same here.

I'm just about to crank it back up from the tipoff.

RE: My story.
I learned a couple of years ago when I got burned on the Grizzlies v. Thunder 3OT playoff game to go ahead and just slap 2 hours onto the end of all of my Tigers and Grizzlies recordings. It kills my DVR space, but i'm usually deleting the recording either immediately or after i rewatch it the next day.

Worst case, the game ends in regulation and I get an entire other game (in most cases) recorded after that. Usually its a game I don't care about, but i've actually caught a couple of good ones on the back end of my recordings in those two hours of extra time.

JUST DO IT!

RE: My story.
Good story.

Exciting game.

Now we can treat earlier games like...earlier games without the NCAA tourney drama so no more will a December game feel like...er...the national title game in terms of drama.

I put on my (now 100% confirmed) lucky Memphis shorts at halftime. (*I also put them on at the half of the LSU game... have a feeling I will be wearing them a few more times this year.)

Make one for me: I had the identical experience. I tuned in the first half when we were up by 5 and watched the rest of the first half. We all know how that turned out. Then I didn't turn the second half on at all, since I was recording it.

I'll give you half credit, I'll take the other half. The rest of you owe us big time.

RE: My story.
I missed the first half of the LSU game because the previous game went double OT or whatever the hell it did. I had the DVR set while I was out running around with my daughter and her son who were in town from Memphis. Got home and turned on the TV to watch the game, not knowing the score, and just had to fast forward until the Memphis game came on.

It seems like every time Memphis is the second game on the schedule for the night, something screwy happens in the first game.

Sounds like your ex has the same timing as my ex did.

My New Year's resolution is never to live in a calendar year that ends in the number 13! I think I can keep that one!
