This is a very good team, won at NC State (82-72) and features the nation's 5th leading scorer (Jeremy Ingram) at 25.8 ppg.

They also have three very good local players in Jay Copeland (Kings Fork) and two sitting out a transfer year in Enoch Hood (Booker T) and Jamal Ferguson (Maury).

NC Central's point guard is a problem at 6.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

I'm expecting this to be a very difficult game and if we lose we get to face a VCU team on Sunday that wants nothing more than to hand us a losing record (4-5).

Really pivotal game for how the rest of the non conference shapes up.

+1 I concur with everything about this post. No one on the Monarchs should be looking ahead to VCU. This game will be a handful and then some! Hope I am wrong but I think NC Central is the class of the MEAC and while the MEAC isn't a strong conference in any type of discussion, there is usually one good team that if it makes it to the NCAA can scare the bleep out of someone (Like Hampton and Norfolk St. have done in the past). I think this years' MEAC team is NC Central. This game is really HUGE - not the end of the world HUGE - but it will be a true indication of whether this team can be .500 in my opinion. I HOPE WE HAVE A GOOD CROWD ON TUESDAY!

This is their guards vs. our guards. If we play some defense we might win. Their big people are about the same size as ours and they don't score a ton.

I know they won at NCSU, however the Wolfpack certainly have their defensive deficiencies. They normally have at least 2 weak defenders on the floor most of the time. Appalachian St is no juggernaut either. If we defend just a little and can get some ball movement on Offense we should be ok.

I'm with you! This would be a nice win - all things considered.
Every win this season will be a nice one. C-USA looking tougher all the time. Charlotte, UAB, UTEP looking really good over Thanksgiving break.

Should be a good challenge. This game could go either way. A win would be a much-needed morale boost before heading to VCU.

3 hour class at 7. Will be tuning in via internets.

I've got a good feeling about this game. I think the young guys really learned a lot playing against tough competition last week. They played a VERY good SLU team tough as nails, and despite the shortcomings I have no choice but to applaud that.

Down to the wire. NCCU has my respect. They're a tough team and are playing far above their conference right now. Can't take them lightly, and I don't think we will.
