College Football - National Champions
Men's Track - National Champions
Women's Track - National Champions
Women's Basketball - Final Four
Baseball - Currently ranked #2 in the nation
Softball - Top Ten

LSU has emerged as the "Stanford" of the South, experiencing success unrivaled by any other school in the SEC. I'm sure some of the LSU haters will try to diminish our accomplishments, but the facts speak for themselves.

Fair enough, bro. :)

You know, I wish you "big wigs" would allow us mere peasants to edit the title line of our posts.

I'm not mad, just crazy. 03-lol

Hey, I thought somebody said it was "no holds barred" on the smack board. There was no malice attached to the post(s),; sorry if it came across as a little to vitriolic*, even for that forum.

*I only know this word b/c I used to have an Ole Miss g/f 04-cheers

It's all good, bro. Just as long as at the end of the day you and I still like and respect each other, we can smack away til our hearts' content. Just because I don't like LSU and you don't like OM doesn't mean that I don't like you, Lou, and I'm sure that feeling is returned.

Hope all is well in your world. 04-cheers

Vitriolic? Come on, Lou, admit that you had to look that one up. 03-lol You know you did. Hell, I'm about to go look it up myself. :D

10MAN,

I only pick on you b/c you're the regular poster on this site that I like the most. I'd be slingin' some stuff at Colonel and JBR, too, but I don't see them very much.

Btw, I don't really have the prob w/ OM that you have w/ LSU. I was pulling for them in the Cotton Bowl, believe it or not. Right now, I don't really "hate" any SEC team, although I did when Spurrier was at Florida.

Yeah, I had to look up that word. It surprised me, b/c I thought it was that hair tonic I used when I was a kid 03-lol

P.S. - Actually, I am a little ticked off at the Colonel. He, JBR and I had an avatar bet on last year's LSU/OM game. JBR, southern gent that he is, paid off on the wager, but Colonel stiffed me. He did post a pic of a guy w/ a mullet, but how is that a definitive affiliation w/ LSU? Hell, that could've just as easily been Mississippi State 03-lol

Anyway, that's the last time I bet w/ that welcher

Lou, this may be hard to believe but it is the truth....I don't have a problem with LSU. I respect what they have accomplished on the field/court/track/diamond, honestly, I'd be a fool if I said that winning the NC wasn't awesome. It is, and I'm happy for the Tiggers, and happy for the money they brought into the SEC and my Rebs, although the Rebs brought in a good chunk of change for the good guys too, with their Cotton Bowl win.
LSU has a good tradition of winning, which is easy to respect. It is easy for me to tell YOU this, because you are not one of those types that I am about to mention. What I do have a problem with is some of your fans. Not all, but alot. Even you, as objective as you are, will have to admit that some of the banter by the LSU fans not only after winning the NC, but even before and in general is perceived as arrogant, snotty, and just downright classless. Again, this is not you. You are one of the few LSU fans that I have gotten along with because of your attitude on these boards. I'm sorry if you have witnessed some of my classless banter, as well, in response to some of the trash that I've read from Tiger fans. Again, it is not LSU I have a problem with, it is a good percentage of fans. I'm not going to sit here and say that Ole Miss is free of bumbling idiot fans, we're not, we all have some. Hell, there are probably some people that think I am one of them just based on my ire directed at LSU's boastful posting. I can assure you I'm not, you know that, but I wanted to make this clear to you, because I know you got caught in the crossfire of my attacking LSU in that thread in the smack forum. My post was directed 100% at LSUMoe. He/she is one of those bumbling fools of which I speak.

Much respect to you, Lou, as a person and a poster, and to your LSU athletics, as well.

Great post, 10MAN. I understand where you're coming from, and much like a referee/umpire, I'm sure I'm guilty of overreacting to the "counter punch" many times.

Btw, I am looking forward to the upcoming LSU/Ole Miss baseball series. I'm not sure exactly which weekend that is, but our two schools look to be loaded this year. You guys have a great coach in Mike Bianco.

Mike Bianco? Now where did he acquire all that baseball knowledge? Anybody know? 03-lol

Yeah, we know we know. Down in the bayou. So what? He was obviously smart enough to leave there, too, and go to the best school in the SEC. 03-razz 03-razz 03-razz 03-lol

You're right about the two baseball teams. That does look to be a great series, but we need to squeeze one more from the Bullies first before we take care of the Tiggers.

By the way, I wasn't sure when that OM-LSU series was either, Lou, so I checked. It's the last series of the regular season for us and probably y'all's too(didn't check your sked). It's May 21-23. If both teams keep the pace they're on, it should be a good 'un for sure. 04-cheers

Edit: I forgot, it's in Oxford, btw.

Yeah, I checked later and discovered that it was the last series of the season. That could well be for the SEC title. I can't imagine these two schools being separated by more than 3 games at that time, although anything's possible.

LSU needs to get their ace, Justin Meier, back on track. We've lost the Friday night game the last two weekends, but we've still manged to take 2 out of 3 in both series.

LSU is 6-3 so far in the SEC, while I believe Ole Miss is 7-2. 7-2 probably leads the entire SEC, b/c I saw where Florida got swept by Georgia this past weekend. Good luck to Ole Miss, at least until 5/21
