West Virginia
Doesn't the ACC wished they had added West Virginia instead of Boston College by now? West Virginia won the Big East without Miami and Virginia Tech since they left.

I guess they plugged their collective noses when they admitted FSU

Sometimes I have a hard time following your reasoning.

We don't border the Atlantic Coast, we have a small market, and as was previously stated, lack the academic profile.

As much as BC belongs in the Big East, and as much as I miss a W over a respected program 3 out of every 4 years, USF will eventually prove to be more than sufficient at replacing them.

FSU is a lower top tier school. The ACC and the Big 10 are the only two BCS conferences without a tier 3 or lower school according to USN&WR.

I know but the ACC still looked down their noses as FSU as a former womens teachers college.
On a side note FSU accepted my application coming out of high school so they cant be too tough.

Funny statement there. WVU had more scholar atheletes than Miami, BC, and VT. They had almost as many scholar atheletes as the rest of the BEast put together. And WVU has more Rhodes scholars than many ACC schools. So the statement that West Virginia lacks the academic profile the ACC wants is rather ludicrous.

-- True...but the problem's arise because WVUs entrance requirments are so low. The state's public school system is broke with consolodations, old schools and little technology in the classroom ruling the day. WVUs academic mission is to educate as many WVs as possible hence the low standards. The Rhode Scholar stat is dead on and WVUs graduate programs were mostly Tier 2 (atleast they were when I was there). WVU was never meant to be a Duke, Rice or Vandy. It was meant to be similar to Ole Miss or Arkansas

WVU, as a state supported school, is setup to service the West Virginia public school system. It serves its purpose very well too. The fact that other schools with reduced academic standards to fit their state school system profile are unable to perform their job should not hamper a school that does. But I realize that this is not a perfect world.

So screw the ACC. 01-lauramac2

Look, we don't need your logic and reasoning and common sense around here!

By the way, screw the ACC! Yeah, they're taking Miami got UC into the Big East, but everything since then reek of arrogance.

I have no desire to see WVU in the ACC. I could care less about it. Although WVU was supposed to be one of the founding members when the ACC broke away from the old Southern Conference, but the North Carolina schools didn't want to have to drive into the mountains. Also,
WVU was a basketball power at the time, so the Mountaineers were left in limbo. I agree with you on that. Screw the ACC.

However, logic and common sense are always in need. So is a bit of reasoning, which is the use of logic and common sense. If you fail to see a need for it, you should have an interesting life ahead of you. Have fun.

lets not kid ourselves with the bordering the atlantic coast. the acc would of jumped all over notre dame if the irish wanted to accept the invite. the border crap is total b.s.

and personally, i dont want to be in acc. if we had to join a conference i would like to be in the sec. only if we had to join..... to be honest wvu has a better shot in the BE with getting BCS bids every year than any other conference. i just want to see a split in a few years and add only 1 team.
