Mike Brey continues to be an awful in game coach.

8 point lead with the ball and 1:15 remaining. 65 seconds later they trail by 3! Unbelievable.

RE: College Basketball 2013-14 scores/discussion
They pulled one out in OT yesterday against Davidson, but I have no idea what to make of this UNC team. They have the talent to beat anyone, as seen by the early wins over UL, @MSU, and UK, but they have also lost to Belmont, UAB, and Texas because they can't shoot FTs. In their three losses they are a ridiculous 50-106 from the line! Their FT% ranks 337th at 61.3%.

They look like a team that is going to wreck your bracket one way or the other this year.

Not a good weekend for ND basketball. They blow an 8 point lead with a minute left against OSU and now their best player is done for the season. Jerian Grant is no longer enrolled in the school due to academics.

Well, that's one less team that we have to worry about on Selection Sunday. UD is trending that way too after an OT, buzzer-beating loss to a USC team that'll struggle to get to .500 this season.

I knew things weren't going well in Morgantown, but I hadn't realized it was this bad! The program has gone from the Final 4 to irrelevancy in 5 years.

@LanceMcAlister
With loss to Purdue today, West Virginia basketball is 20-24 since start of last season....and 39-38 last 2+ seasons.

I saw the end of that ND-OSU game. Grant almost single-handedly blew that game for ND with some poor decisions/turnovers down the stretch.

WVU's roster is a mess. 2, 3, 4 transfers out of the program every year are catching up.

Frankly, they have not looked well coached the past 2 seasons, either. Sloppy and undisciplined.

Funny...Aeric (sp?) Murray who struggled to get minutes at times last year for WVU for being in the doghouse with Bob put up half a hundred on Temple for Southern Texas this past week. Sure that went over well on the WVU boards.

After years of calling Big Monday games and other big games between ranked teams, it's sad to see Bill Raftery calling a St.John's-Xavier game on a channel that no one watches.

Big East in name only.

Why exactly didn't we want A.J. Hammons? Too slow? I remember posts of joy when he picked Purdue instead of us.

Today against OSU - 18 points, 16 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 4 assists.

He was really high on our list. We had him in for an official visit 2 weeks before he committed to Purdue.

Houston has been stuck in a crappy conference since the big boys left CUSA, they get a home game against a perennial top 15 team to open up their new conference and there is about 500 people in attendance. Pretty sad.

UConn with their usual complete head shaker loss. Freaking Houston, really?

UConn was down 21 and comes back to take a 3 point lead final minutes only to lose it. UConn doesn't have enough depth or scoring options so I expect a few more of these games from the Huskies. They might have the best player in the league and two other really good pieces but you can't play three on five, UC tried that last season and doesn't work.

UConn is about to drop to 0-2 in the conference. They are down by 9 at the under 4 timeout at SMU. I was impressed by the Mustangs this week. That's going to be a tough return trip.

I was impressed also, this isn't an upset. SMU is deep and athletic and can definitely beat anyone in their gym. I could easily see us losing that game.

Larry Brown has assembled some great young talent down there. Within the next 2 years they'll challenge for the title in the American.

Watching Napier from UConn, he gets a lot of fouls called on defenders by running/bumping into them when he has the ball (not by actually being fouled).

We got killed by the national media for scoring just 44 points in a win. Funny, I didn't hear anything about Syracuse scoring only 49 at home in a win... and we'll see if Kansas gets accused of setting back basketball for their 27 points with only 13 minutes remaining with a future NBA roster.

Good game between OSU and Mich St. Glad to see the Buckeyes drop one.

And the student section chanting "just like football" was pretty slick.
