Props to Frank
lol
I was expecting our depth to wear them down. But it was mostly 5 guys in the second half that wore them down.
Joe and Nichols each played 38 minutes. Crawford had 37 and Geron 33.
Shaq still had 25 minutes even after sitting most of the first half.
Oh, and we played a game yesterday too.

Talked to him before the game and was bragging on his absolutely precious son. Saw him biting his towel a few times.

Isn't that the same "Frank" who some threads here were tearing up for conditioning methods last week?
Must not have been.

People act like its amazing that an 18-22 year old D1 scholarship athlete can actually manage to play basketball for 38 minutes.

other schools must have a life changer on their roster too, because their players are doing the same.

They get 8 media timeouts. A long halftime. And each team gets 6 timeouts.
When they played AAU Ball, they would play 3 games in one day and and then play 2 the next day. With a 6-7 man roster.

Who looked tired at the end of the game, the kids who played 30+ minutes or the ones who didn't?
We definitely looked like the fresher legs down the stretch.
As always.

Well, here goes ...
Considering they chased down 4 loose ball long rebounds with 13 seconds to go, I'd say they looked pretty fresh too.
Honestly, every time we win, someone has to bring up Frank like he was the difference. We won because we executed better, played better, defended better and hit shots. They also got a little tight, but I saw zero evidence that we had some sort of fitness edge that made the difference.
Is Frank a good trainer, I'm sure, but we really need to get over this feeling that he somehow provides us with some sort of huge fitness edge.
If I go on the Duke board, do you think I'd find so many plaudits for their strength / conditioning coach? But would you guess that Duke has a damn fine coach filling that role? What about Michigan St? Or Kentucky? Or Kansas? Or VCU?
I'm sure all those schools just hired some 23 year old who just got his Personal Trainer certification from http://www.becomeapersonaltrainer.com ...
