USF's Kloss named Groza Award Finalist
USF kicker Marvin Kloss has been named one of three finalists for the 2013 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award presented by the Orange Bowl Committee! The other two are the kickers from Texas and FSU. Kloss, Florida State’s Roberto Aguayo and Texas’ Anthony Fera will be honored at the 22nd annual Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Awards Banquet on Dec. 10 in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The winner will be announced live on ESPN at the Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, Dec. 12 at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Good luck Marvin, and congratulations! 04-cheers

I was hoping Memphis' Jake Elliot would make that list. He's certainly shown his worth this season.

Oh well, Tom Hornsey is a Ray Guy Finalist.

Wonder why Moffit wasn't in the running? He's got the 4th highest percentage of FG's made, better than both FSU's and USF's kicker, which puts him right behind the Texas kid, and he's 100% on PATs. Hell, Kloss isn't even in the top 40 in field goal percentage.

Most of his FGs are from far away.

5/7 from 40-49
4/6 from 50+

Compared to Moffit

3/3 from 40-49
1/2 from 50+

Jake Elliot is 15-16 for the season with a long of 56yards and 20-20 PATs. Homerism it may be but he should have been a finalist.

Sadly for us, your offense has been more successful at driving in to close field goal range. Ours hasn't.
