Blast from the past
UCF USF Thread

In case anyone didn't understand the hate that has been building in Orlando for years, here's what our own beat writer and the Times writer were saying after we got blown out. I hope Bianchi dies in a fire.

This should probably be moved to smack preemptively.

Old news. Win the game, and it all means nothing, especially if UL beats UC.

Bianchi was a big reason that good things happened for us recently. He got Judy on the record with questions about blocking UCF in a public forum. They got the double team against Judy with representative Lee Constantine. Judy could no longer try to block UCF being a state institution.

1. USF was one vote ...if the Big East wanted UCF they would have voted them in despite USF's protest.

2. Lee Constantine was out of office and fresh out of his DUI program by the time UCF became a serious candidate for the Big East.

Finally, there is no rule that state schools need to sponsor or support rival universities, else we should be pressuring FSU or Florida for admission into the ACC or SEC. You are not very good with facts are you.....

If UCf wins it has one win in five tries and you beat the worst USF ever in our short history.

If UCF wins its next 2 games it will do something that USF couldn't do in 8 years.

Amazing how just about everything Coach O'Leary said came to fruition and just about everything the USF beat writer said is now the exact opposite.

Stop. You know full well when you're on the inside you can block teams. Judy would have went down kicking and screaming if it wasn't for the public embarrassment she was taking. ESPN offered $10 million to each school for UCF to be the #10 big east team. Judy was pushing for any other option like Villanova...lol

Lose a non-conference game to UCF, and you've got some explaining to do.

And that's why scheduling years in advance is an inexact science.

LOL.

Give us a break dude. It's well documented that The Judy did everything in her power to screw over UCF, at the expense of everyone else, and it's been widely understood from people who would know (unlike you) that she railroaded an ESPN proposal to add UCF and extend the ESPN/Big East TV package. And since she railroaded that, she is basically responsible for the league breaking apart and the AAC being left with a $2M/year TV deal.

She is a petty, selfish, and vindictive moron.

But the ultimate irony is that UCF's program is now well ahead of USF's, despite her every attempt to keep us down and do backdoor deals to turn the screws to us.

Must suck for you USF fans to know that.

Correct...there isn't a rule...but there is a thing called COMMON SENSE, which Judy never had...because if she DID have a sliver of common sense, she, just like ESPN saw, that by adding UCF, her school could have received an annual TV payment of $10 Million.

She was a vindictive B-tch and now her school has lost ALL that money, ALL that prestige and basically just wasted the last 10 years since her school was invited back in Nov 2003 to join a "BCS Conf"...all to see some school that was in the MAC and CUSA and with very little tv exposure or $$$, just fly right by.

That's gotta suck.

PS. Judy was hand-in-hand with Marinatto for almost a year trying to push this school for Big East Football over UCF.

This thread is like watching a couple of overweight 11 year-old girls slap-fight. If this is what this "rivalry" is made up of, then I suggest you both find different rivals...

Rivalries should be about sharing, mutual adoration, rainbows, puppies, and firm handshakes.

Just like Cincinnati's big rivalry with... with.. Ohio s.. no.. Who?

I don't know of anybody who would say that UC has a "rivalry" with tOSU. First, we don't play them nearly often enough to have a rivalry with them. Second, we're not on the same level with tOSU--economically, tradition, etc. tOSU has an almost unlimited budget, whereas UC has to scrape up resources; tOSU has the state legislature at it's beck-and-call, UC has to fight our own city and county for our existence... you can't really have a rivalry with such an uneven existence.

tOSU's true "rivals" are other mega-State institutions like Michigan, Penn State, and Nebraska. We're not "brothers," UC is more like the deprived step-child of the family. WVU and Marshall is a more apt analogy to tOSU and UC than anything...

That being said, a whole lot of UC folk despise tOSU. But spite is not really the basis of a rivalry.

My point is try not to come off like the elitist Cincinnati program is belittling our rivalry with UCWF because the nature of our rivalry is different than your perceived norm.

Judy really pissed off WVU, Pitt, Uconn, and Syracuse with that Villanova push too. Great job Judy!

We went to bat for ECU and Tulane. Those are the 2 that I know about, so those programs will have our back. They would most likely vote with us if it came to "blocking" a school. It can easily happen that 1 school can force a block, but you know that CyberBull.

and your 4 wins were at the highest point in USF history, over a UCF program that was coming off an 0-17 losing streak and stuck in a worse conference.

Now, after 8 years of BCS recruiting and BCS paychecks USF has regressed to an embarrassing level while UCF has managed to build a top 25 program with the meager resources we had in CUSA.
