In all fairness, posts like that are just throwing Kerosene on the bonfire.

SMU is much better academically. UCF is much better on the grid iron though. A player has to decide what is most important to him, and in most cases it looks like they'd choose UCF over SMU. If academics were all that mattered, Tulane, Rice, Harvard, and Yale would all be in the top 10 every year.

Well der... he still has to be good even just to be their back-up back-up qb

I've followed Harris very closely, and this is a good pickup for UCF - I really hate to lose him.

That being said, most of his SEC offers were no longer committable (specifically, Bama http://bleacherreport.com/articles/16498...-it-drafts; Kentucky http://www.aseaofblue.com/2013/4/5/41759...offer-mean and MSU)

Obviously, UCF is closer to home and is having the best season in their history, all motivating factors. We also have 2 QB commits already from Texas - Harris was offered by Hal Mumme after those 2 commits, which was also a strange situation.

Bottom line - Both schools will be fine. We take Darrell Colbert, UCF gets Harris.

Right...because teams never have competition at QB in for future years...and all top QB's are guaranteed to stay healthy during their 4-5 year careers too and every QB easily reaches their guaranteed potential once in college.

Dang...if that was the case...then no HS QB would ever sign a scholarship if a team already had a QB on their roster.
