It plays a part in who gets ranked preseason, which then plays into how the first few weeks rankings are shaped. But at this point in the season, the argument of what a team did the previous season has about as much credibility and merit as using how hot their cheerleaders are to determine how good a team they are.

What has Freno done besides basically losing a game? It's okay their luck won't hold out. They'll get what the deserve.

San Diego State should get the BCS bid since they basically beat the world beaters that is Fresno State.

Have we been lucky? Yeah, some. But I think there's a little luck in every undefeated season. I'm reminded, however, of a column headline by Jim Murray in the LA Times in the early 1960's about boxer Jerry Quarry. It said "Quarry learns luck is a 4 letter word: Work". I actually created the account because I lost the logon information I had for my old account for CSNbbs and don't have access to that old e-mail account any longer. But if you'd like to believe that I did it to stand up to you mean NIU bullies, then go for it. Let's face it, we're both fighting against the BCS system trying to get into a big money game. You haven't accomplished anything measurably better than what we've done.

You have three wins against bowl eligible opponents (Iowa, Ball State, and Toledo), CMU could make four if they beat EMU, and then another one in the MACCG. We have three as well (Boise, UNLV, and SDSU), and will most likely add a fourth in USU for the MWCG, and Rutgers should beat UConn and probably USF to finish off their disappointing season, which makes it five.

You can claim that we haven't accomplished anything, but if you look at what you've done, it's really not all that impressive to those on the outside either. We got ranked first, and whether or not you feel that's fair is irrelevant. The fact remains that since you haven't done anything in that timeframe that would warrant you jumping above us, therefore you haven't been able to.

Now you can cry foul all you want, or whine, or continue to insult me, my team, or my fellow fans... but it's not going to get you anything.

Both teams are comparable in their respective conferences with opponents wins and losses. When it comes to non con schedules NIU has to have the upper hand.
Fresno hasn't beat anyone out of conference of note. I'm not saying that Purdue is a great win, but they'd probably beat Cal Poly. Don't get me started on Rutgers being a signature win. Had Fresno played Colorado that wouldn't be anything to hang your hat on either. It all comes down to non-con. NIU's is weak, but Fresno's is weaker.

SD State already beat Fresno and another mediocre team will do it again. End o' subject.
