My guess: Out.
Not a chance. A team does not fall 14+ spots for a loss to a top 10 team under any circumstance. You're letting Parrish get to you.
You may want to look at UNC. They were ranked higher than Memphis but fell to #24 last week (AP poll) even though UNC has repeatedly defeated Top 25 teams.
Did you not read my post?
I said we would not drop 14+ spots after losing to a TOP TEN TEAM on the road. UNC lost to an unranked Belmont at home.
And they have "repeatedly beaten top 25 teams"? Do you think the polls are a historical measure? This UNC team hasn't been any top 25 teams. They don't get credit for years past.

Go Tigers!
Maybe to you they have to win the fans back and maybe to you the enthusiasm was blown out the window.
Unlike you, I didn't over react to the loss on tuesday. It was a bad game where we got punched in the face early and were shell shocked, and we never recovered. That was one game out of 20+ games.
This is still going to be a great season

Go Tigers!
And if we don't win it's probably best if we forfeit the rest of our games this season because the season is over. Geez.
would that mean I get my money back for the season tickets I have?
No, it would go into the Pearl/Hamilton/Hollins/Stevens/Buzz/Cuonzo fund.
You left out Shaka.

The debate will end soon enough. The schedule this season is far different from what we've been accustomed to. Hopefully the coaches and players will be up to the task. If they are it will be a really fun year; if they aren't it's going to be a miserable season.
I think we'll pretty well know by Christmas if this team is viably good or not.

Exactly. The Okie State win was a disaster in every sense of the word, but it was a lost battle, not a lost war. We'll know before long whether it was a a wakeup call or a harbinger of things to come.

Yeah, the line through the screen name is a definite hint. Also, the word "banned" underneath the screen name is another clue.
I'm fairly certain Smiley will simply use some alias to continue questioning Pastner's coaching ability in every BB thread.
Good point by bluebacker - we will all know by mid January if the OSU game was an aberation or not for this team. By 1-17-14, the TIGERS will have played LSU (hopefully), OSU again (hopefully), Florida, Cincinnati, @Louisville, @ Temple, and Connecticut.

CBS Sports Top 25 and 1 has already been updated with Memphis out of their rankings altogether. You're probably right.
Yes moron...every voter in the country will follow Gary's lead...unc also lost to an unranked team. We lost to a top 10 on the road.
Moron? Is that the best you can do? Stooping to name-calling is childish at best. It exposes one's inability to behave on an adult level and basically serves to expose the real moron don't you think?

Yes, I did read your post. Also, I recognize the past problems Memphis has had with remaining ranked in the AP. Our failure to defeat a AP-ranked team in the past 4 seasons may cost us in the updated poll. Maybe I'm wrong but UNC's drop in the latest poll seemed a bit harsh considering their past record against ranked teams and Memphis may suffer a significant drop as well.
No, I don't think the polls are a historical measure but the AP poll relies upon votes from reporters. The opinion of those reporters most certainly reflects in their ballots. Memphis' lack of success against ranked teams, combined with their humiliating loss, will undoubtedly affect our chances. Realistically, how smart can those reporters be to vote UK as #1 in the preseason?
#24 UNC just defeated #3 Louisville earlier today which lends a little credibility to my concerns imo.

When one doesn't know how to think at an adult level then terms like moron are applicable, as it was in this instance
Coming from one who doesn't know how to think at an adult level, are you aware that 22 of the 65 voters in the AP poll disagreed with the Tigers' ranking in the preseason poll? Are you aware that only 3 of those 65 felt Memphis deserved a higher ranking? Memphis wasn't exactly on solid ground to say the least.
Do you honestly believe the Tigers' track record against ranked teams will be disregarded when they cast their ballots for the upcoming week? Do you think Memphis' RPI of 183 justifies a top 25 ranking? Do you think the beat-down from the 64th ranked RPI team isn't going to negatively impact our ranking? Or do you believe our win over a team with an RPI of 349 is going to offset the week's earlier loss?
I think you and tigerseth should at least put out a little effort before trying to portray yourselves as somewhat knowledgeable.

Your entire argument is discredited by the fact that you are talking about RPI in November. Nobody pays attention to RPI is freakin' November. I feel bad because it seems that you took a lot of time to research this position of yours, but it's completely useless.
