Anybody know how many scholarship players we finished that game with healthy?

I'm not sure how to digest asking for a shortened game and referencing injuries while at the same time protecting 22 red shirts.

Now a post on the main board about the "mercy rule". I get we were injured and done, but with the beatdowns we have laid on the Albanys and Howards of the world, I would have expected us to take this beating like a man vice waiving a white flag.

Not our finest hour.

That was my first reaction.

To clarify my earlier post about the youth on our team, I wasn't trying to compare our roster to yours but trying to feel in the blanks as to why we struggled so much early this year. I doubt ECU smokes us if we played now

Never at a hundred points, though. I would have much rather preferred the running clock over chunking 5 minutes off. Slightly easier to stomach.

RE: UNC. Rank this loss
To those who said UNC beatdown, let's be honest. We knew going in we had roughly a 10% chance to win that game. Also, I think many are guilty of "living in the moment". That's understandable and very easy to do. But the answer is the Butler tip in, and its not even close. Our team could have gone to the final 4 that season. Most talented basketball team I have had the privilege to see. I'm a Celtics fan, so whenever Brad Stevens pops on the screen, I still have horrid images of that day in my head. The ODU players on that team were LEGENDS on campus that 2 year run of back to back CAA titles.
Frank "The Tank" Hassel
Kent Bazemore
Darius James
Trian Illiadis
Chris Cooooooppppeeerrrr
Keyon Carter
Marquel DeLancey
Even Nick Wright was good that year.
I miss them all.

Wasn't Ben Finney on that team as well?

Butler loss was crushing. Still stings to this day. Stupid last second tip in. Should've been our Final 4 run not theirs.

UNC game was a butt kicking but it was just 1 game in a transition season. Already over it. Would love a 2nd shot at them after a few years of FBS under our belts.

I think if ODU and UNC ever meet on the field again be it regular season or a bowl game. This game score will be written on the hands of every Monarch player. Motivation enough.

Chill.

I'm just saying ramifications of the Butler game were huge on several levels. It's going to take basketball a long time to recover from the bad karma that game set in motion.

That game had nothing to do with the downfall of this program. Post hoc ergo propter hoc. Besides, Butler went on the the NC.

The UNC football game, however, could certainly change the landscape of our recruiting.

I think the Butler loss had everything to do with the downfall of the program, from a psychoanalytical perspective. That's why I voted for it.

RE: UNC. Rank this loss
The Butler game really hurt because I was watching in the Webb Center, and I remember saying "we better not lose, this may be our last chance to do anything significant for a while". Unfortunately I was right. But at least we played one of that year's NC contenders to the wire.

We played UNC close in the first quarter and that was it.
