Not if your logic is to make sure your conference's #21 ranked team stays that way against a "meaningless team" at the bottom of the conference.
There is MUCH MORE TRUTH to this than most will admit or even want to imagine.

Yeah, I have not liked the too conservative playcalling all year. Seems like we go into desperate mode during 4th q, then open up playbook and surprise surprise we start scoring.
Not 100% accurate for this game. We did seem to sling it around more in the 2nd half, but how many times did we run that same draw play?
Paxton was visibly rattled in the first half, but we still hit a deep ball to Malone after that.
Remedial football lesson for the "too conservative" and "why do we do better in 4th quarter" comments:
A steady diet of running the ball makes it easier to move the ball later in the game.
If you can move it well early, so much the better obviously, and that is obviously the goal.
But this was the #2 defense in NCAA, so you have to expect it to be hard.
We wore them down and started moving the ball and had a chance for one last drive.
I would say the play calling and game plan was pretty smart, even if not quite as effective as we would like.
You left out the mental aspect of believing the game is won and letting up defensively and then not being able to turn it back on.
