Obama Holds Off-The-Record Meeting With MSNBC Hosts, Lib Bloggers…
[Image: 96ow.jpg]

All of his favorite lapdogs were there, Ed Schultz, Lawrence O’Donnell, Ezra Klein, just to name a few. Got to get that 37% rating up boys. Propaganda machine will be in full force. Fear? What fear? Also, no Obamacare anymore. ACA from now on.

President Obama held an off-the-record meeting with MSNBC hosts and liberal pundits on Thursday, POLITICO has learned.

Present at the meeting: MSNBC’s Ed Schultz and Lawrence O’Donnell, Washington Post economics blogger Ezra Klein, Mother Jones Washington bureau chief David Corn, Talking Points Memo editor and publisher Josh Marshall, ThinkProgress editor-in-chief Judd Legum, Atlantic senior editor Garance Franke-Ruta, Salon political writer Brian Beutler and Fox News contributor Juan Williams.

How is it possible, or even ethical, for a reporter to be called in for an off the record meeting with the president unless it involved national security?

Journalism is not what it once was. The vast majority of journalists are now active cheerleaders and propagandists for one side.

I tell ya, this has me concerned. Obama probably gave out a bunch of shiny objects and the libs almost certainly fell for it. The liberal press will now make national headline news of small stories and put the Obamacare fiasco behind them. I went to some of the websites for these outlets and barely mentioned is Reid and his overthrow of the Senate nomination process or Obamacare. Fox will probably be the only news source for Obama's failures and I don't know if it will be enough.

Here are the things that I believe the press should be following up on until we have all the answers:

The Benghazi scandal
The IRS scandal
The EPA scandal
The jobs report scandal
The tapping of reporters phones scandal
The Fast and Furious scandal
The way Obama changes our laws on a whim

All of the above points to a dishonest government, shouldn't that be a reporter's wet dream?

Conservatives have nothing to fear from that meeting of Einsteins. All of them truly believe Obamacare is good on both the micro and macro economic level, so collectively there were very few brain cells in attendance.

With FDR and Truman, everything they ever said to a reporter (while they were president) was off-the-record, unless they gave specific permission, after the fact, for the statement to be quoted publicly. And with Coolidge, a reporter had to submit questions in writing, and Coolidge would (or would not) respond at a later time of his own choosing. The members of the press in those eras (1923-1953) had such respect for the office of the presidency that they went along with it.

Eisenhower was the first president to allow his unedited statements to be quoted without "permission".

Okay, fair enough. So again, what is the point? So the President can expouse his plans to a reporter and the same reporter can't report that? Why bother? Just say nothing, or don't convene the little tet a tet.

Ima guessing something else afoot here.

I am guessing the meeting resembled the classic scene from the Governor's office in the movie "Blazing Saddles"
I am going to change the characters to reflect real life:

Obama: Holy Underwear! Web sight crashing. Poll numbers reflect the public has a low opinion of me and trust the Republicans to handle healthcare. We got to save our phony-baloney jobs gentlemen. Immediately. Immediately. Harump! Harump!
(Group): Harump! Harump!
Obama (to Eric Holder): I didn't get a Harump out of the guy!
Holder: Give the President a Harump!
Shultz: Harump!
Obama: You watch your ***!
