New AP poll
The new AP poll is out and Louisville is 3rd again as we got jumped by Kansas. Understandable in my opinion. What I don't get is how Kevin Gorman out of Pittsburgh dropped us all the way to 7th. WTH? I guess those 28 and 45 point margins of victory just weren't enough.

Pitt fans, what's this guy's track record?

Better than most in Pittsburgh, to be honest. He's one of the more fair writers, and he has a Penn State background I believe. But as you'd expect from that, his expertise has been in football. He was at one time the Pitt football beat writer.

Really, why get upset with a basketball poll. Is there anything more meaningless than the AP hoops poll in November?

What I'm most surprised by is how In the hell we are ranked I know UNC has brand recognition but no we don't deserve to be ranked. Honestly Pitt and FSU have looked very impressive so far

We haven't played anyone yet, so it is still a little hard to know where we are. That said, I have less concerns than I did this time last month.

I believe we're a tournament team, as usual, but I just don't know how deep we can dream of going yet.

As any pitt fan has learned the last few years.....that will be the first or 2nd round.

RE: New AP poll
Normally I just glance at the polls but when it was pointed out to me that we were voted 7th by someone I found that insulting.

RE: New AP poll
Kevin Gorman is a great dude. He done a lot to get the Clairton story out and he used to do a great job as Pitt's beat writer.

I wouldn't sweat this ranking. It's mid November w/ tons of basketball left to be played.

FSU's looked much better than I expected. Gotta credit Hamilton.

RE: New AP poll
I don't get too excited about the polls the first few weeks...the Thanksgiving tournaments will yield some valid data points. BTW, IMHO Cuse is overrated right now...closer to 20.
