The research in this was really cool for me. I guess I'm what you would call a middle-aged Blazer fan. I've seen a lot more than some on the board, but others here make me wish I had been able to follow this team years before I did.

Once I started looking a couple up I couldn't stop myself because I was amazed at all of the talent some of you lifers have been able to see play against our Blazers. I hope that years from now I'll be able to go down the list and say that I got to see a list of talent like that play...

More importantly, I can't wait for the day a Blazer is on that list.

One question though...according to the research I was doing Bill Cartwright played for San Francisco from 75-79 and UAB beat San Francisco at home on November 25, 1978 (our 2nd game ever?)...shouldn't Bill Cartwright have been on that team?

Or is he like Kyrie Irving and for whatever reason didn't play?

UAB played San Francisco State, not San Francisco. And It was our second game ever.

If you have a media guide that says otherwise it is wrong. They have a few mistakes that get copied year to year and will eventually one day be accepted as fact. For example, our third game ever was against Oklahoma City. But the media guide I am looking at right now says we played Oklahoma.

RE: Trivia Challenge - NBA All Star/UAB edition
The win over Uconn was in the NIT for a chance to go to NIT final four. Big East teams were given home games to try and sell as many tix as possible for final four at MSG.
The home court at Uconn was busy so they had us play at another venue where Uconn played in prior decades. Great win by the Blazers as I listened to the call by Gary Sanders. Went on to beat Michigan State in consoles. That season UAB beat two # 1 seeds in the NCAA tournament of 89/90 and set ourselves up in the big dance the next season as well.
In our matchup that following season we should have played a different team.
Who did we play and who should we have played?

Elbert Rogers burst onto the scene in that game with 9 points off the bench.
