Please read my fearless poll prediction for this week thread. It was no surprise NIU was in position to make up about half the deficit in the computers, the problem is, THEY ARE NEARLY CAPPED now in the amount they can make up in the computers. The rest of the way it has to be 90% humans and there is no way in heck NIU can make up that much ground humanwise when NIU gets penalized by the Coaches for beating the 35 team. This week's human polls was check mate for NIU's BCS chances. Just win the MAC now, that's all we can do, and while not a BCS game its still a good accomplishment. But, forget about the BCS now, coaches have stated emphatically they will not allow NIU in.

MD...how much did you expect NIU to move up when nobody around us lost? We will gain on Fresno State when the teams between us in the human polls lose. Even the teams just behind us since I'm sure they're taking away some of our votes.

I don't think he was expecting us to jump anyone, i think he was at least expecting us to gain votes not lose them. No one should lose votes when they beat a 9-1 team.

I understand what happened but its not acceptable. Coaches were pissed NIU was 15 in the BCS and wanted to hold that up a bit, I knew that 15 ranking was going to come back to bite us because now Coaches realize they cant move NIU up anymore. First time in BCS era a 10-0 team not in top 16 in Coaches poll, NIU at 5 spots below that and going down after big wins. just laughable.

Literally nobody around NIU lost. Michigan State had a really good victory. That's where the loss in votes came from.

There's a long way to go still.

Marginal gains in Harris outweighed loss in the Coaches. The Harris at least you can try and talk yourself into some level of fair ness but all that is more than wiped out by the severe corruption and criminality of the Coaches poll.

So take (more of) the votes from an idle Fresno team, not a team that beats a 9-win team.

And yes, i understand Fresno did lose votes, but we lost more than them despite winning against a good team.

That was just because of the computer rankings though right? In the human vote we lost vs. Fresno I believe.

Harrirs had minimal gains but the Coaches Poll had NET LOSS which basically means just a tiny improvement in the polls. Problem was, this was a better win than Fresno has had all year and in similar weeks when Fresno had their signature win they gained 100 votes on NIU....100 votes. NIU lost Coaches votes for beating a top 35 team. You just cant defend it 7 lol, you just cant. NIU also lost more Coaches votes than UCF, and NIU beat #35 by 21 and UCF narrowly escaped against #120.

No. NIU lost like 4 in the coaches poll but made up 30 some I think in the Harris. Cumulatively, they made up ground.

Gained 47 in the Harris, lost 4 in the coaches.

Net gain of 43.

They made up ground in the human polls.

Here is the funny thing. Should Fresno pull for or against the teams between us in the human pulls? Pull for they may jump Fresno. Against and they fall behind us. Either way it's good for us as long as nobody else fills their spot.

Hey guys, all this talk about our BCS chances is great, but it's just not going to happen.
Here's my wish: Take Toledo to the wood shed, making a statement.....then go to the MAC championship and make another statement there. After that, get the best bowl possible. I will be extremely happy with that scenario.

NO

Oh that's right it was just the assistant-secretary-to-the-assistant-coaches poll where we dropped. They've probably been watching too much E$PN.
