Congrats Rice
It's been a long time since a Tech team was physically dominated like that. I think Nevada in 2006 was pretty close (49-0). What a fine team... I didn't see that coming. Good luck the rest of the season.

Thanks for the nice note. Best of luck to you guys the rest of the way - hope you can close out bowl eligibility.

RE: Congrats Rice
One of biggest criticisms of Rice is that it always plays its best in November and does not translate the November momentum into following season. Rice played its best game of the year tonight for its first game in November. If Owls would have played like this all season, Rice would be 9-1 vs. 7-3.

For La Tech, the D got gassed and looked to quit and lose discipline on gap control that opened-up some big holes. LB play was weak in particular. On offense, need more touches for King and to find a QB who can make Skip look good. Huge QB dropoff from last season. QB play can make coaches better or worse than they really are.. Young and Higgins are going to get Skip run out of Ruston which I'm sure some Tech fans are ok with.

RE: Congrats Rice
I wish it was as simple as that. That was a physical mismatch. A heavyweight boxer vs a flyweight boxer. We never had a chance. It looked like a 7th grade team playing a varsity high school team. I knew we were not a talented team, but I didn't know we were so weak. Rice isn't Alabama, but they sure looked like it to me. Sheesh.

RE: Congrats Rice
Didn't help that after Dixon went out on the first series we just kind of quit out there. Rice was going to win away but the game should have been closer. Higgins is only a FR and I think will be pretty good in time. Colby was terrible early on for us. Play calling must improve as well.

Anyone think this could get the Fire Skip Holtz train moving faster down the track?

It could. Tech is not used to getting whooped like that. But unless we can get an influx of talent, you might as well warm up the "Fire the next guy" train too. (See Southern Miss)

Thanks, hopefully you guys can get back on track. This conference needs a strong La Tech.
