Cool to see Coach K's post-game pep talk at the end.

RE: MBB at BC Highlights
Coach K and his staff deserve a ton of credit for how quickly this team has come together with all the new faces (although not playing, of course Drummond and Weatherspoon were here last year) including three freshmen who also contributed.

I was really impressed with the team's consistency and even more so with their focus and high level of offensive play for the full 40 minutes as evidenced by a high FG percentage, very few turnovers and consistently good shot selection. No Jekyll and Hyde Buffalo type performance out of this group and none of those tortuously long scoring droughts that characterized some of Stan's teams.

I don't want to get overly excited based on just one good win, but at the moment I am thinking this might be one the best Rocket MBB teams we have seen since Stan's early years with Greg Stempin.

I love how we finally have some guys who can play above the rim. Its not just the dunking, we have basketball guys who can play all phases and explode when needed. we'd go whole seasons without having guys who could touch the rim with Stan.

I think we have more dunks in this year's 2 games than during Cross's tenure and TK's first couple years combined!

It's early but on ESPNU I'm watching Florida Atlantic-BC. Boston College is trailing by 2. On a side note Fla Atlantic looks like they have some size. Don't we play them later?

RE: MBB at BC Highlights
bc pulled it out by 3. bc is one of those teams that can score on most anyone but isn't physically dominant so will play a lot of close games.

rocket fans can watch the whole replay at espn3. really liked how even the talent level is for us 1-9 in the rotation. not much drop off no matter who is on the court. once Jonathon Williams figures out the new rules w his defense he will be able to take a little pressure off juice. garber won't peak until he has a yr or two in the weight room, but his big enough w enough game to help out in spurts right now. on the replay you can see how good our hands are. this is a team w a lot of ballhandling, passing and catching skills. lauf just snatches rebounds.

I am most impressed with the team's attitude. They played v BC like they knew they deserved to win. Juice is a real leader. He wants the ball at crunch time. Drummond acts like he is all conference even though he has not yet played a conference game. Last year, if Pearson was not having a super game, UT was beatable. This year, the team can win regardless of whether Pearson has the hot hand.

May seem kinda strange to call a home game against Florida A&M a "big game", but I feel like tonight's game is important--want to see the Rockets play a solid game and not get caught by the short turnaround from that come-from-behind win at BC.

Remember the excitement when the 98/99 team, led by Stempin, started the season with 9 straight victories and 16-19, before the wheels fell off. That was the year we beat OSU (best dunk ever, by Stempin), Xavier and Dayton back to back. Things got pretty exciting in Savage that year. A good long winning streak will go a long way to packing Savage this season. We have a bunch of the tools. Tighter D and more court time together will only make this team better.

Stempin stuffing UC's Kenny Satterfield to seal a Rocket win.

I went to the Dayton game, sat in nosebleed and walked out with 13K stunned Flyers with a big smile on my face.
