Don't post anything negative about the Illness. You will just be labeled as jealous.

NIU can maybe slam EMU about attendance. I'd....not open up this discussion.

Illini need to stop using images of our state on their field and helmets. It's embarrassing.

Which gets snapped first: Illinois' 20 game conference losing streak or NIU's 23 game conference winning streak? Both are in serious danger next weekend.

Had a house full of HS kids this afternoon. They were laughing at Illinois.

The students from China and out of state could care less about Illinois football. Besides the students need to pony up over $20 ticket per game. They do not pay an athletic fee of over $500 like NIU students and have FREE tickets.

Why would someone go to a game that's sure to be a blowout? Is football really worth watching there?

In all fairness, the Illini played a heck of a lot better than I figured they would.

Agreed but no one would have expected it.

The announcers were dissing the Illini coach pretty hard. To paraphrase, the coach was saying something to the tune of the team has the physical skills, intensity, and desire to win....but they don't have the football smarts right now. Announcer basically said, well, you're the coach that on you dude. Later were pointing out how essentially none of the top Illinois HS recruits are even considering the Illini.

I'm sure the Illini faithful can't be too excited to see their coaches having physical altercations on the sideline. #RockBottom

Tim Beckman's first remark in the press conference was how relieved he was that they won the coin toss for the first time this season. The guy is a clown.

I drove by Champaign Tuesday on my way to DeKalb. The stench of mediocrity was wafting all the way from Memorial Stadium to I-57. 03-lmfao

I wish it was mediocrity.

It's pretty amazing to me how much it's shrunk since I was at school there. Of course, the fact the entire fanbase hates Beckman isn't helping anything.

Yeah and it's not cool to kick someone when they are already down. Seasons change. Why is there anything about Illini on this board? We are having the best ever!!! Let's focus on the success of NIU.

what I find odd about Beckman is after his first season he replaced at least 4 of his coaches. If you can't get your staff right then there is no hope. Cubit and him face to face yelling at each other just shows the chaos. But fire him and they have to eat 3 yrs after just eating $7 mill for Zook, Weber and womens basketball coach. And if you fire weber, heck you got to fire the AD, he picked Beckman. I still get a bad taste when Beckman sent 5 coaches to penn st to poach there players.

The Illini did score 35 against Ohio State, which would be impressive if they had not given up 60. They do have potential.

I think there may be more to the lack of students going to the game than just team performance. It could also be a sign of the Illinois economy.
