JMU vs Milwaukee
Besides making beer, Milwaukee sucks at pretty much everything else. This is a neutral court game that will feel like a rec league matchup with 20 people in attendance. I give the edge to the team that has more experience.
UWM 69
JMU 64
Semenov has to get more than 2 attempts from the arc. 8 to 10 per game should be his target

They beat Davidson at Davidson as noted in last nights thread by 84. It also looks like they can score more easily than us. 68-58, Bruce Pearl's former team wins.

They also was last evening against San Jose and had a four point loss to Loyola of Chicago. If JMU is unable to create more offense than they have the first two games, I don't see this one going well for them. The Dukes struggled to get open looks last night. It seemed to take incredible effort for every shot taken.
It is early in the season so I am going to defer judgment for a little while longer. I hope to go to the game Tuesday to see them first hand. Sometimes youth plays much better at home.

Anyone going to watch the game in Harrisonburg after the football game? BWW and Oneils are not streaming the game.

I have the NIU streaming service. Cost like $6 PLUS a tax. Somewhere around $7.50 total.
Sem is 4-4 with 9 points.

RE: JMU vs Milwaukee
Not enough support for Semenov tonight. He played his role by going 3 of 7 from the arc and the rest of the team flopped shooting 1-10.
It is quickly becoming apparent that the Dukes will live or die by jumpshooting this year. There isn't anyone who is a credible post up threat and there isn't anyone who is proficient at driving to the rack.
The shot doctor has his work cut out for him to mold his young, lengthy wings into consistent 3 pt shooters.
Cooke, Lukic, Kent, and Vodanovich all have potential to be the guys that will complement Semenov's dead eye 3pt shooting.
Not a surprising result tonight, but certainly a trend is developing on the offensive end that indicates early trouble. In order to win games, this team needs to be good from behind the arc to offset some of its other deficiencies.

Yes, we have all jump shooters behind the arc but no one to slash into the lane to draw defenders in so he can kick the ball out to the spot shooters. We need A. Nation for this role.

Just got back from the game. UWM's players just looked much bigger than our guys. We had no inside game which might not be a surprise to many here. Since there were maybe 200 people at the game, we got great seats and were able to heckle at will for the whole 200 folks..Go Dukes..beat SJST tomorrow!

RE: JMU vs Milwaukee
I think they do have a couple of guys who can be effective posting up. Cooke has shown that he can post up against smaller Shooting Guards and Bessick looks to have improved his back to the basket game. Cooke just needs to be more aggressive and Bessick has a tough time staying out of foul trouble. With Nation out they are also playing a lot more zone than man. I think when he comes back they'll have another athlete and more depth to be able to play man or even press to cause some turnovers. Kent looks pretty solid at this point not sure why Dalembert didn't play much yesterday especially since Paulius got as many minutes as he did.
