Ross has had some pretty nasty dunks in the past three years in the summer pro-am but this one ranks right up there. Also, quite a few folks had questioned Jordan Baker's recruitment but so far he's been pretty solid, not flashy but scrappy and looks like he'll be more than just an end of the bench player.
Yeah Dad, I even heard Jones on the radio say he was really happily surprised with how good Baker is. I like this guy a lot. The way he moves on the court, he just looks like a basketball player. One of my favorites.
is Baker a RS freshman? I don't remember him from last season (though perhaps I am trying to forget about the season). Bacote is a treat and Ross is a beast.
also, I think this is the first time we've had a winning record since the '11-'12 season.

There are going to be some tough nights ahead, especially on the road, but you've got to admire this team's hustle and unselfishness. I disagree that Taylor is going to be a star, but I think he'll be the guy you can count on every night for 8 and 8, maybe 8 and 10. Nothing wrong with that. I haven't seen him shoot anything but a layup (dunk) yet. For Palmore to stay on the court, he has to play as he did last night. He can't shoot a lick; the 15-footer he took last night was pitiful, but he filled the stat sheet in other ways and had a huge hustle rebound near the end. Nice chemistry with Ross and Taylor; someone had said on here that Bacote had made huge strides from last year. That's plain to see. Lots of holes on this team, but Jones has them playing hard and mostly smart, and that's a huge improvement over last year. Batten's gotta find his stroke because Bacote has to have someone else who can score from the outside. He needs help. I liked that the crowd last night gave them a standing "O." People spend so much time on here being hyper negative and critical that we (I) forget we're just a tiny portion of the fan base. Thank God.

This team is better than last year's with arguably less talent, or at least less experienced talent.
Kudos men's BB!
The team is getting more coaching in three games than they probably ever did last year.

I was one of those giving the standing ovation. After the previous 2 seasons as well as all the off the court drama, they deserved the negativity and they deserve the ovation. Maybe we can get the attendance issues turned around.

I've been impressed with what I have seen the last two games coming out of the locker room at the half. The build of energy and the extra passes, so far so good.

You can actually hear the crowd gasp before it erupts in cheers.
That clip also highlights the athletic instints of Denzell Taylor. He scooped up the loose ball and flung it out to a breaking Jordan Baker in one, instantaneous motion. It reminded me a bit of the incredible court sense and hustle of Ben Finney.
The assist gets credited to Baker for a great pass back to Ross. But Taylor is the one who started the play.
