RE: Lady Dukes Playing Liberty on ESPN3 Right Now Tuesday Night
Currently we are ranked #9 in the Mid Major poll. If we can move near the top of this one, we may see some crossover to the other poll.

If we're looking at the same mid major poll, then it's also slightly out of date, if they did it again today, we'd probably be around 7 since we had a quality win and UD lost. Also, we are receiving an AP vote in the WBB top 25.

I guess what I'm really asking, are we good enough to climb our way into (or close to) the top 25 and stay there?
I'd guess we'd have to do what we did in prior years and head into conference play with a max of 2 losses and run the table in the CAA to stay in the top 25. Without a player of national recognition (I shudder to say it, but like EDD), we'll have to pile up a ton of wins to get any votes.
That being said, I think this year's OOC games will tell us more about this team than in many past seasons.
I think BJK has it about right. Being a mid major without a national marquee player like EDD, we would really have to stockpile the wins early on. Luckily, we play some big name teams (UVA, UCLA, PITT, St. Johns, Vanderbilt, and UNC) so if we win our fair share of them, we really could gain some serious national attention. 6 teams from our non-conference schedule made the tournament last year (UVA, UCLA, Prairie View A&M, Liberty, St. John's, Vanderbilt, and UNC). Win a good share of these games and I'd say we could definitely be ranked.
? UVA did not make the NCAA tourney last year.
Yeah I definitely didn't mean to put UVA on that list. accidentally crossed it over from the previous list. UVA and Pitt didn't make the tournament last year but they're still power conference teams and will be solid wins.
The point still stands though that we have plenty of opportunities to rocket our way up into the national spotlight.

Especially if we could manage to go undefeated up to the finals of the Gulf Coast Tourney.
