Hypothetical Question
Okay, because I'm bored and laid up this weekend with a bad back:
ESPN executives are sitting around a room talking about the Big East tournament ratings numbers - biggest since 1998 - and one of them poses the following question:
What 12 teams do you think would have to make it to MSG to break the all-time ratings mark?
My picks (alpha):
Cincinnati
Connecticut
DePaul
Georgetown
Louisville
Marquette
Notre Dame
Pittsburgh
Rutgers
St. John's
Syracuse
Villanova
And you know what? I think that just might be the field for the 2006-07 Big East tournament.
Cheers,
Neil

Sorry Neil, I don't think West Virginia has thrown in a towel just yet. Yes WVU lost 5 fantastic seniors, but there is still alot of talent coming back to play in Morgantown this year. Don't be surprised if WVU fields a competitive team in 2006-2007.

I agree. The Mountaineers can't be counted out. Beilein has shown what he can do with a program in total disarray. Imagine what he can do with a team he's coached for a bit. They may be young, but they aren't babes in the woods like the first team he took the floor with.

I'm glad Cincinnati was added to that least because we are MUCH more talented them people realize. And if we get what we expect from everyone we should be able to go 10 or 11 deep.

I agree. I would drop SJU from Omni's list and add WV. But there is no question in my mind that the Eers will take a couple of steps back next season at least, but they will still be good enough to make it to the BE tourney ahead of SJU.
