Gary Nova has thrown 11 picks on the season and is prone to make errant throws when pressured. Our front seven needs to get in his face early and often. They have a couple 6’6 wide receivers but Leonte Carroo is their big playmaker averaging 19 yards a catch and 9 TDs for the season. Rutgers has a very good rushing attack. Their freshman RB has been tearing it up and they have two other very strong backs (Savon Huggins tore us up last year). That being said I like our defense better in a matchup against a balanced team like Rutgers than I do an Air Raid offense like SMU (and subsequently Houston). Look for Blair and Luc to have big games.

On offense we are going to have a much harder time running the football against the Scarlet Knights than we did against SMU. Rutgers is stout against stopping the run. I anticipate Rutgers will be keying in on jamming up the screen passes to McClung and Shaq. As a result it should open up some stuff downfield to Chris Moore and McKay which could create some big play possibilities.
