Interesting. I knew very little about Turner Gill, the man.

RE: Possible EMU FB HC Candidates (FCS Candidates)
here is a UB fan posting on the Bulls the year before Gill took over. 10 ppg. Pretty grim:

"RE: Is this Miami team the worst ever?
UB had some ugly years at first in the league, but not as terrible as Miami 2013. Plus, we had the excuse of being a transitional team with mostly mid-tier FCS talent.

The closest would be 2005. Hofher's final season, an inexcusable year 7 in FBS. 1 win by 10-6 over Kent. 10.0 ppg, 30 ppg against. Only 14 TD's all season. 3075 yards of offense. 43 sacks allowed, 27 TO's.

But we got that win and were competitive in others. Looking at Miami to this point, they will easily eclipse most of our dubious 2005 stats. "

Rob Ambrose could be a favorite at UConn which would kill our hopes.

I keep telling folks that selecting a HC isn't like going to the dealer and buying a car. The dealer says 30K and you say yes and it's a deal.

Why would Ambrose listen to EMU at say 450 or 500K when his first choice might offer 1M or more???

Those who think that EMU is the only one looking at Ambrose, Babers, etc. are probably very naive. 04-jawdrop

I'm not sure Ambrose would take EMU even if he didn't get the UCONN job. He'll have multiple opportunities come his way. May not want such a major rebuild.

Agree, it might be tough. I saw a post on the main board that Lembo is/will be interviewing with UConn.

That might free Ambrose for another school.
