RE: Longest return in ECU history to finish Tulsa off in style!
For some reason every game we play against Tulsa in DF ends with an incredible Pirate score & a subsequent dog pile!

That makes 4 in a row over Tulsa and 6-5 against them over all now. The recent dominance over Tulsa and USM is nice! Only one team in the AAC has a winning record against ECU moving forward and USM is the only team that has a winning record against us from C-USA. Pirate fans should be proud of that and the current trajectory of the program is also something to be ecstatic about. Now it's time to finish this whole season off in style!

I was greatful for this win, at the beginning of the season this looked like a loss. Then again Tulane looked like a win, so shows you what I know.

Then what should the kid have done? Taken a knee? Any player given that opportunity would have done the same thing, including a Marshall player.

Running up the score on defense. That's rich.

Why? Tulsa was trying has hard as they could to score late in the game, they were spiking the ball to stop the clock along with throwing the ball into the end zone with no time left on the clock…If they are playing to the very end then our team should play as well. It would be one thing if they were taking knees or running up the middle to run out the clock but they were doing everything they could to score that last touch down so as long as that is going on our team should play it out…Also you have a back-up defensive player out there with a chance to score a 100 yard interception return for a touchdown.

Just because he's a backup I'll accept it.

RE: Longest return in ECU history to finish Tulsa off in style!
It's common to go down for an interception late in the game (particularly if it is close and the INT basically ends the game) but this is a freshman DB who hasn't played a ton and took an opportunity. When I saw the play I was laughing and thinking "what are you doing?" when he started to take it out but he wanted a TD. I don't think it was disrespectful or running up the score.

If he was an All-American CB who had 20 career INTs it would have been different but that was the first "big play" he has had a chance to make in college. I'm sure to him he felt like he was winning the game, not scoring an utterly meaningless TD.

Plus for any defensive player, how likely is it you will ever score a TD? Can't blame him for going for it. Plus he is now in the ECU record books (longest return) for what I have to assume is the most unnecessary TD in ECU history.

Running up the score? You sir, are a doucehbag. Their coach was calling timeouts and throwing the ball in a attempt to score. threw it to the wrong guy and he was a freshman. No need to down that one. Their coach should have let the clock run out.

It would have been a very classy move to have stopped short of the goal line and taken a knee. I doubt though that any Freshman defensive back in America would ever think to do that. Instinct took over and no one could really hold it against him for scoring. If it had been the Tulsa player scoring?...I would feel the same way.

When did you guys pull your offensive starters? I see Carden threw a TD with less than 4 and half to go in the 4th quarter. We pulled our starting skill guys after two possessions in the third when it went 49-14. We only scored once in the last 21 minutes and that's only because our third string back broke a 60 yard run. Same deal with USM. We pulled all the starters with over 20 minutes left.

I was surprised you still had your starters in on a drive late in the 4th quarter.

Jesus Christ! Why do we have to explain everything to you? I swear you are further up ever ECU fan's ass.

Carden stayed in because our backup QB still has a redshirt. Our previous backup QB is injured. It would be crazy to burn a redshirt for garbage time.

A lot of reserves were in, but Carden has to play or else we have to burn a redshirt because his backup (Cody Keith) is out with an injury.
