I would imagine that we'd get a BBVA bowl slot in Birmingham. The AAC will only have 5 teams, and if they get a Liberty slot, they'll be open in both Beef O Brady's and Birmingham. Surely if we get hosed out of the Liberty Bowl then we could secure that slot in the Ham.

SMU could still get to 6-6

Sure, but upsetting either Houston or UCF seems like a tall order.

Possible, but highly unlikely. Maybe a 1 in 10 chance.

Wow! It sounds like someone OTHER than LA Tech has "trust issues" with the Liberty Bowl. 03-phew(The LB Director lied to LA Tech last year which resulted in Tech ending up bowl-less, despite a 9-3 record.)

It's because of the way the contract was written. If the SEC can't fill Birmingham (picks after Liberty), then AAC moves their Birmingham slot to Liberty to face the SEC, and we get kicked out. Unless UTK, Miss State, or Florida get eligible, that's what's going to happen.

Hopefully we at least get the Birmingham slot in return, like 2011.
