La Tech Fans-
I find it interesting that Skip's first year with y'all is turning out to be remarkably similar to his first year at ECU. If y'all get to 5-7 (which you should) I would consider the season a success, especially considering what y'all lost off of last year's team.
Be patient with Skip: he'll get y'all there!

Are you kidding? We were 9-3 last year and ranked in the Top 25. All Holtz had to do was just not screw it up. He was given a Porsche and all he had to do was keep it on the road. He turned that Porsche into a bicycle. We will be lucky to win 5 games this year. He's so boring and coaches defense... at TECH! We can't win with defense!

I am sorry but that Porsche he was handed was not the same Porsche you guys had last season...You lost a ton of talent off last years squad. I am no Holtz apologist and I would have said the same no matter who your coach was this season. I suspect no matter who was coaching your team there would have been struggles this season. Very few football programs can just reload every year and none of them are at the CUSA level.

RE: La Tech Fans-
OK, we lost 4 NFL players on offense. But that was only like 2 WR's, the QB, and the RT. That's no excuse for not going up tempo and running 100 plays a game! Our QB has never played before, he knows what he's doing. We are only scoring 20 points a game! That is a 60% loss of production and we only lost 60% of our starters. Holtz sucks. What? Our defense has improved 50%? So?!! We are only averaging 400 yards of offense per game!!! He's an idiot. We can't afford to keep him another year or we will never be good again.
Don't respond, I'm just illustrating the madness that is the La Tech fan.

RE: La Tech Fans-
Tech's D is a 100% improvement from last year. The D does give up a lot of first downs on 3 & long but they stop the run and make some big plays on the back end.
The offense is below average because of a terrible OL. I would love to have Dixon actually not have to break 4 tackles behind the LOS to break free on a 10 yard run. Dixon is the best back in CUSA by far. No passing game at all and Dixon is going to get 1200 yards this year and that's with him missing 2 games.
Overall D gets a B and the O gets a C. If we beat rice this week then the grades go way up.

RE: La Tech Fans-
Skip is a good coach but uptempo was never in his bag of tricks at ECU. Grind it out and win by a couple of points was his MO. His brand of football made just about every game a thriller even if it should not have been....our home attendance went to new levels during his time coaching here. There where a lot of good things he did here...generating record level of interest in our program was one them; he just left us in a bad situation that has taken a few years to recover from. Hang in there with him I think he can build something special at LT that your fanbase will be happy with. Of course we where coming off of JT years of a total of may be 3 wins in two years so winning 5 games was damn exciting; y'all are kinda going in the reverse.

RE: La Tech Fans-
Skip Holtz loves a FG. He was a good coach at ECU because he was fortunate to land some bigtime NFL defensive talent at ECU. I will always appreciate what Skip did for ECU, but imo you cannot win big with Holtz at a non BCS school. He keeps teams in games with his conservative style.
The man loves kicking FG's and punting more than women.

If he can increase attendance and win a couple of championships, I can live with the thrilling games.

Holtz had his best game last night as a Tech coach. The D blitzed 4 out of 5 plays and Dixon ran the ball. I couldn't find a single decision or call that he made incorrectly.

RE: La Tech Fans-
How many fans do you think will follow the team to Houston this weekend? I hope, at least, 500.

We have quite few alumni that live in Houston - even with our terrible season you should see at least that many from the locals
