Wouldn't it be logical for Western Kentucky to be out west to or are they going to be there already.

More than anyone else in the conference, I want to stick with Southern Miss.

You gotta think we have to stay with USM...we are the only two original teams left! Plus, you don't want to split up MT and WKU.

What's the deal with Texas? Is having 4 Texas teams really gonna affect recruiting that much?

Remember that the old SWC was all Texas schools plus Arkansas while it lasted. Since we now have charter jet planes and Interstate highways, a few miles east and west (or north and south, if the league goes in that direction for division) for individual schools might not be a stumbling block like in the "old days" of trains and buses for team travel.

the only way that makes sense for us to stay east is if they have one cross division rival and send FIU/FAU west and give them FAU/FIU as their rival and UAB has USM as a rival. no school in the conference is driving to FAU/FIU so it does not matter which division they are in. I keeps the east schools playing in florida every other year for recruiting. this would be the best case for UAB because it would give us three schools in our division that are close enough for fans to drive to games and have fan bases that will drive to away games. and uab needs those buts in the seats to survive. that being said with our luck uab heads west.

maybe cusa need to have 3 DIVISION for now
west (tx teams) ,central ,,,(uab , la tech , southern miss and middle tn ) , the rest will be in the east
later the east can be divide in east North and south ..add a another florida team or a georgia team will be perfect
The best format will be 4 division of 4 teams

i was thinking of adding some ga team to fill the south east division
if we add of louisiana team, uab WILL end in the south east with the florida team
or make one division conference and the schedule will be in relation of the distance for your place
You play the 8 closest team from home .it will be a new concept :)

This is the best thing I've seen on this message board since football season began.

CUSA commissioner Britton Banowsky: Southern Miss headed West, no decision ye...
(11-10-2013 11:19 AM)ATTALLABLAZE Wrote: I really don't care. I can get to the 4 Texas schools MUCH easier than ODU, FIU, FAU, and Marshall. La Tech and So Miss are easy road trips. Almost as easy as MTSU and WKU. Charlotte is a plane flight as well all though it's non-stop like Houston and Dallas.
Most UAB fans don't travel and the ones that do will go to La Tech just like they will WKU as an example. The only team I would hate to lose home and home is MTSU. I think folks are making a much bigger deal out of this than it actually is. Fix the defense and then worry about what division we are in later.
US Airways runs at least 5 (might be more) flights a day non-stop BHM/Charlotte. Booked enough in advance, non-holiday rate is $55 each way.

I don't think we'll ever go to divisions in basketball again. Just use the travel partners concept.
