I'm with something I heard on Lost in Vegas about this track.... only Tool sounds like Tool... its not metal, its not alternative, its not..... , they are their own sound. Me personally, I like the new track enough but I have never gotten all in on Tool. Not going to say they are bad, but they aren't always my cup of tea.

ahhhmen!

Lateralus and Ænima merge with 10k days part deux....you beat me to the punch (as usual)

I'm with you on this track.....it's still pretty good, but all I hear is a mish-mash redux....unfortunately, it's about what I expected...

....waiting for the rest to tickle the fingertips...

I like all their spew, but the rawness of their first EP always makes me bite when amped in angst....

from the time when music videos were more than afterthoughts:

Artist: Peter Gabriel
Album: Security (PG 4th)
Song: "Shock The Monkey"
September 14, 1982

Video was written and directed by Brian Grant. Gabriel himself has described "Shock the Monkey" as "a love song" that examines how jealousy can release one's basic instincts; the monkey is not a literal monkey, but a metaphor for one's feelings of jealousy.

Artist: Elvis Presley
Album: King Creole
Song: "Hard Headed Woman"
Songwriter: Claude Demetrius
June 10, 1958 RCA Victor Records

Well,
a hard-headed woman,
A soft hearted man
Been the cause of trouble
Ever since the world began.
Oh yeah, ever since the world began
A hard headed woman been
A thorn in the side of man.

Adam told to Eve,
"Listen here to me:
Don't you let me catch you
Messin' round that apple tree!"

Oh yeah, ever since the world began
A hard headed woman been
A thorn in the side of man.

Samson told Delilah
Loud and clear:
"Keep your cotton pickin' fingers
Out my curly hair."

Oh yeah, ever since the world began
A hard headed woman been
A thorn in the side of man.

I heard about a king
Who was doin' swell
Till he started playing
With that evil Jezebel.

No disrespect intended and he has my sympathy but calling him a singer is a stretch.

There's certainly been much worse than Eddie. he had some catchy hits that most people can sing.

The start of this video is a little ironic, now:
Artist: Eddie Money
Album: No Control
Song: "Think I'm In Love"
June, 1982 Columbia Records

Artist: Eddie Moneywith Ronnie Spector
Album: Can't Hold Back
Song: "Take Me Home Tonight"
August 16, 1986 Columbia Records

Money would recall: "I didn't care for the demo [but] it did have a good catch line. When I heard [a snippet of] 'Be My Baby' in it I said: 'Why can't we get Ronnie Spector to sing it?' [and was told] 'That's impossible.'" Money invited his friend Martha Davis, lead vocalist of the Motels, to sing the lines from "Be My Baby" on "Take Me Home Tonight": Davis encouraged him to try to recruit Spector herself and Money was eventually able to speak on the phone to Spector at her home in northern California: Money - "I could hear clinking and clanking in the background...She said: 'I'm doing the dishes, and I gotta change the kids' bedding. I’m not really in the business anymore, Eddie. Phil Spector and all that, it was a nightmare'...I said 'Ronnie, I got this song that’s truly amazing and it’s a tribute to you. It would be so great if you…did it with me.'" The success of "Take Me Home Tonight" encouraged Spector to resume her singing career, who would release her second solo album Unfinished Business in 1987. In 1987 Money would say of "Take Me Home Tonight": "I didn't like the song, but…it helped Ronnie out and it helped me get some of my other material on the album across, so now I'm happy I did it."

....then again, there's this:

Artist: Eddie Money
Album: Eddie Money
Song: "Baby Hold On"
February 1978 Columbia Records
