As an alum, it pains to see this team perform this poorly year in and year out.

We, quite simply, aren't even competitive in a league that prides itself on being non-competitive.

So we've got some decisions to make.

* Drop to FCS
* Kill the program entirely
* Clean house. Again.

Personally, I'm for No. 3. Lane Kiffin, or another similar type coach, would do wonders for the program.

He would bring in interest, bring in MONEY, and eventually I think will get to that magical number 6 in the wins department.

Coach mcGee i'm sure is a great guy. Ellis Johnson is a great guy.

Neil Callaway is a great guy. But are they fit to be head coaches?

And did I say I miss Watson?

I'd rather kill the program than go with Kiffin. Are you crazy?

Lane Kiffin helped destroy 2 programs in 5 years.

Coach Kiffin is a proven winner, and is unemployed right now.

If WKU can get Petrino, we can get Kiffin.

Since the OCS debacle, UAB has been like a 3 ring circus. It's just been laughable... For people outside of the fans. I just don't see it getting any better.

Kiffen lost with the raiders, killed UT, and with all the talent in LA managed to get fired mid season at USC. McGee is a better coach.

RE: Where do we go from here?
Look at the drastic change in the college football arms race...even since Watson's departure.

Even in our own state, 6-7 years ago, Alabama had JUST stopped playing at Legion Field, Auburn didn't have an indoor facility, and Alabama certainly didn't have a waterfall in their football building.

But we're not trying to compete with them...we're just trying to be competitive in our own league. But still, our conference counterparts have raced ahead of us in that regard. Even a new football building will be a huge leap forward. We all bang the drum on the OCS, and rightfully so...but it's probably actually the last piece of the facilities puzzle to install.

How many times do we "clean house" and how many coaches do we get on payroll to not coach before we stop throwing money down the bottomless pitt that is UAB football?

What "money" does Lane Kiffin bring in that McGee didn't? UAB doesn't have a huge base of millionaire alumni to dump money on the East Tower of Bartow Arena like they're the Federal Reserve.

If you think meaningful facilities are going to get approved with the program getting *worse* and not better, then please pass me whatever you're smoking.

You miss Watson and want Kiffin.

I wouldn't trust your football savvy to pick a middle school game.

McGee might not be the answer, but Kiffin 100% FACT isn't.

RE: Where do we go from here?
We keep at it. That's what we do. We don't drop down and we don't scrap the program. I'm not about to endorse giving those UAT folks what they want.

If we had a halfway decent defense, we would be fine. McGee has to find a solution to the defensive problems. That is the key. If he can't figure out a way to get our defense in gear, then he needs to go.

If we think Kiffen is the answer, we might as wait until Jerry Sandusky gets out of jail.

Proven where? He lost with the Raiders, wasn't at UT long enough to unpack, and has dropped USC off its high pedestal. Don't know what you're looking at.

The answer is we move on to Basketball... Football stinks, bottom line it rests with the HC. But we gave NC six years, no way we should can McGee this year. I dont think we give McGee 6, but at least 3.

Southern Miss gave Ellis Johnson one year.

Southern Miss gave Ellis Johnson one year.

And they are still winless.

I agree with this. I think McGee gets one more year to show some improvement. Doesn't even have to be an 8 win season, but if we aren't a 5-6 win team at LEAST after next year, then I don't think we are heading anywhere with McGee.
