RE: Where do we go from here?
And where do we go from here
Which is the way that's clear

Still looking for that blue jean, baby queen
Prettiest girl I ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean
(James Dean)

And where do we go from here
Which is the way that's clear

Still looking for that blue jean, baby queen
Prettiest girl I ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean
Jimmy Dean
Rock on
Rock on
Rock on

Mary had a Little Lamb,
little Lamb, Little Lamb
And every where that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.

RE: Where do we go from here?
I don't have the experience in college football - except as a fan for over 50 years - to judge the ability of any coach. I do know that when a coach inherits a losing record program, he is generally given time to upgrade his team through recruiting over at least three years. McGee inherited the majority of his first recruiting class (2012) from the work of the previous staff and several of his own class from Feb, 2013 have performed well. NO coach gets any class 100% right.

For those for whom "coaching" is 100% of the answer to good records, I can only disagree and point to facilities as a prime limiting factor to quick turnaround success. It is also true that as many as 70% (well over 1/2 anyways) of our present players are from the team that got the last coach fired.

More times than not, said Coach is also given the resources he needs to put the football program into a more progressive light. See Tulane, Charlotte, North Texas, Akron, Baylor, Central Florida, Fresno State and Duke, for starters. I've been told here a number of times that some of these resources for UAB are "on their way" or already in place. Guess we'll see around this time next year, eh?

In terms of facilities to improve the physical preparations for playing the game, the ONLY improvement since 1990 (to 2013) has been the renovation of the Bell Gym with an improved weight room in 2006. Did anyone see the list of new facility improvements (ground already "broken") shown on TV last week during the ULA-LA game for their team?

I heard an announcer mention something about this on a televised game with the Ragin Cajuns. I remember when they were doormats for a good while, but no longer. You can see the pride of accomplishment in the faces of the players and the fan base there. UAB is a hell of a long way from that with the "culture of losing" so deeply embedded within.

The TV carried pictures of the ground breaking ceremony, a list of the facilities being built and the costs of those to be built. The leadership at UAB can only salivate while envying those programs who are being adequately funded while ours still is trying to raise funds to do the same "someday". Here we are trying to raise funds to do what we needed to do in the 1990s.
