Latest forecast for Tuesday is calling for a 60% chance of rain/snow late Monday into early Tuesday. Tuesday--high 36, low 19. (ouch)

Should be back near 50 for the weekend, though!

Why doesn't the MAC tell ESPN "No, we're not playing on Tuesday's or Wednesday's"? Does the conference really make that much money from TV revenue with weeknight games? If the conference does make big $$$, maybe ESPN has more power with college athletics than the actual NCAA.

I would imagine the visibility plays into the acceptance of it. Helps with recruiting. Helps with Bowl assignments. Hate it but it is what it is.

As the coaches say, it's all about exposure. When you play on Tuesday, and are the only game on TV, then anybody who needs a CFB fix will tune in the MAC game, when on Saturday, no matter what time you play, there are 5-10 other games on TV to watch.

One thing that's exposed are a lot of shiny seats where people used to sit.

RE: Beautiful day for football...
TV exposure is the "coin of the realm" of college football. Of course there are both advantages and disadvantages to these week night games but on balance the conference, the programs and the University presidents obviously see the advantages as outweighing the disadvantages whereas those of us who like to attend the games in person and maybe do some tailgating tend to see the disadvantages and favor a total return to Saturday games, but I suspect that we will continue to be trumped in favor of weeknight games.

Of course there is a real possibility that the MAC will eventually get pushed out of even the Tuesday and Wednesday slots as more and more of the "big boys" decided to increase their exposure with weeknight games. Not likely that tOSU or UM or Penn State or Texas or Alabama or a few other schools with 80,000+ average home attendances will go that route, but there are a lot of other schools that probably are willing-----which is why the MAC no longer plays on Thursday nights as they did a few years ago when they first blazed the weeknight trail. So be careful of what you wish for.

Do you know who doesn't play a lot on Tuesday/Wednesday nights? Eastern, UMass and other mid-major bottom feeders. Do you think players like Hunt are going to pick UT if they're never on prime time television? Not a chance in hell that UT gets half the recruits they haven gotten over the past 5+ years if it wasn't for mid week games. Kids want to be seen. How many Saturday games in November do you think would be televised in Florida, South Carolina......?

As a spectator I'm not a fan but if you want exposure....ANECDOTE: M y wife's stepbrother lives in Miami, Fla. A couple years ago he asked me about a play involving Nick Moore (the football one) that took place on ESPN weeknights. This was nine months after the game. That speaks to the impact these games have nationwide. As I understand it there have been a few quality football players from Miami high schools.
