If you don't like college gameday don't watch it or watch FS1 college preview show from 10:30 - 11:30 eastern time.

I watch fox sports 1 but switch between commercials. I watch because I want to see the games, not because of the people of the show. I like seeing the match ups, I try and tune them out.

Maybe Kirk could get some SEC/B1G/ACC/PAC12 teams to come to Dekalb so we can have the schedule he wants us to have. Sounds like a win/win to me!

I didn't see the segment so I'm just reacting to what I've read here. Those who quibble with our strength of schedule have a valid point, our SOS sucks. But it's hilarious that The Gerbils would look at the Purdue game and try to pull a negative from that. Yes, Purdue is bad. But they are still a Big 10 team that we took to the woodshed in their own house, putting up 55 points and leaving quite a few more out there as I recall. Did we give up some yards? Yes we did. We also had our backups in the game early in the second half because we were killing them so bad. Those guys are completely nuts.

One more note: If style points count so much we could have left Lynch in the game and scored 80+. Maybe we should start doing that.

You guys are way too sensitive. Welcome to the spotlight. That's what happens when you win. I don't care what any supposed expert says about us, all I care about is winning. If we keep doing that everything else will sort itself out. I would much rather be stacked up against the top teams than not mentioned at all. Keep winning and keep building.

I don't waste time listening to the talking heads, I tune in for the games. As mentioned in an earlier post, they have a lot of airtime to fill, so these little minds put their heads together and create a story.

Style points do matter in human polls.

RE: ESPn
What is just awesome is that last week Herbstreit used OSU's blowout of Purdue as a REASON they should be considered for the national championship, but then turn around and use Purdue as a reason NIU shouldn't be in the top 25 lol just classic.

How come when Louisville was undefeated the whole discussion was should they get a national title shot, not if they should be ranked lol. They have just as bad of a schedule as NIU, interesting how we do not hear much about that in terms of it being a disgrace that they would be up for a BCS bowl.

I didn't see Gameday but if Pollack really said there should be a cap to how high NIU can be voted, I just have no words left

We took Purdue to the woodshed by having Purdue turn the ball over 5 times, getting a KRTD, and a pick-6. Two of the INTs were tipped balls where our guys were in the right place at the right time.

Purdue's offense had 250-300 yards in the first half on our first team defense, they moved the ball easily on us, but we capitalized on opportunities where the ball bounced our way. Had the ball not bounced our way, we had the rare defensive score and special teams TD in the same game, we would've been in a shoot out like we were with EIU and Idaho. And that is why they feel we're overrated. It's not an unreasonable view.

Sure it was a great win, but we didn't beat them 56-0 and give up 116 yards in the game like Ohio State did last week. That is the kind of performance where people will agree you would win the game 10 of 10 times, and earn the respect most on this board seem to believe ESPN should give NIU.

Oh my good lord are we really being scrutinized for playing backups hahaha HuskieJoe come on this is just ridiculous. You are defending ESPN to the grave. Michigan St. won by less points over Purdue than NIU did, Michigan State is ahead of NIU. NIU could have scored as many points as they wanted to in that game. If you really think scoring 70 vs 55 is going to change ESPN's impression of the Huskies, you are delusional.

Comparing UCF to Fresno or NIU is a canard since UCF is a member of an automatic qualifying conference; they are not competing against MAC, CUSA, MWC or Sunbelt teams for an AQ bowl slot.

Their win over Lville on the road is far more impressive than beating PSU

You probably touched on the most insulting thing, they are treating the pollsters like they are stupid and ignorant. I understand what ESPN is trying to do in propping up UCF to block out NIU and Fresno, and ESPN is trying to make voters move up UCF quicker by doing this NIU/Fresno/UCF comparsion. It probably will work.

VOTERS could careless what ESPN THINKS, but they may consider the facts of an argument to form their own opinion.

What in the world are you talking about? It makes a huge difference. Voters do not DVR all 60 college football games each week and watch each game. What the national media puts out becomes perception and that perception becomes reality. We have already seen the effects of the ESPN 1-hour NIU bashathon last season on the lack of mobility this year compared to Fresno.
