Texas and Marquette? LOL

Texas would make some sense. His family lives in Houston, he has AAU ties there and Texas has a ton of money. Marquette would be a step down. You wouldn't go from what you have here at memphis for a lesser job unless you were running away from something. Personally, I would be ecstatic to get Bruce pearl. He is an awesome coach. Look at what he did at TN of all places. He would be awesome here.

Texas is a realistic destination for Pastner. Less pressure from a football centric fanbase and they could pay him well. I honestly just thought the fact that Bruce (according to my source) wants the Memphis job is interesting.

Marquette? Tell us where would Buzz Williams go?

Josh has already turned down NCSU, Oklahoma, LSU, and most recently $3.5 million per year from Southern Cal. If if Pearl said that I think it's more what he wishes would happen than what might happen.

Im not saying he is a bad coach. Just saying that having the NCAA on our jock strap from Day 1 wouldnt be a great thing considering what you have to do to recruit at the highest level of D1.

I agree. Bruce wants the Memphis job. Texas is better than all those jobs you listed though. Marquette is on par with Memphis in terms of prestige, maybe slightly lower. Not much though. No one can measure how much the pressure to win here affects things.
